The problem I have with people like that is that they don't care about objectivity. They pick out all the "bad" parts of a movie, or a game, and they purposefully leave out the "good" parts just to make it seem worse than it really is. Normally, that'd just be an annoyance, but y'know? The people in charge of our country are a perfect (admittedly mild) example of this. I can't look at these sort of people and say "hey, they'll never amount to anything, we can just ignore them" when there's so much proof to the contrary in Washington D.C. alone. It all comes down to whether you're looking at it objectively or subjectively, in my opinion. When it's an objective rating, when you look at all the good things along with the bad (like sites like Gamer Dad or, to a lesser extent, the ESRB and the MPAA), I don't have a problem with you saying "Whoa, hey, this really shouldn't be seen by children". When you're taking a subjective look at something, and doing everything short of forcing us to believe what you believe... I'm not so kosher with that. There was a point to that rambling diatribe, and I hope I managed to convey it in some manner or another. I get incoherent when I'm pissed.

Mm, I get what you mean, and I believe you're right. In the end, it's just a matter of point of view. Objectivity is rather hard at times.
But, the reason why I said these people can be ignored is because said people look at things in a "religious" point of view. Now I'm not sure of the government in the US, but in any other country, if a government is going to look at something subjectively, it's usually not religion. It's for their own profit. And even if they use religion as an excuse, it's still for their own profit.
And I highly doubt the entertainment industries would stop making movies and such for people like them, because movies = $$$, and who would say no to money? Absolutely no one, I can assure you that.

Serious. As closely as I can guess, anyway, and judging that they've "reviewed" over 1000 movies by these "guidelines", I say it's probably a pretty close guess.

Okay, minor dilemma. Classic case of having too many games to choose from, and not being able to pick which one. Waffling between trying to finish God of War or Devil May Cry, or maybe dusting off Ocarina of Time or Skies of Arcadia (not likely. Not enough time to really get into the game tonight). Or there's always Guitar Hero, or TF2, or StarCraft. Can't decide which one.
Help?

I say, if there's not a lot left to finish God of War or Devil May Cry, finish one of those two (or both). Then you can play OoT or SoA if you feel like starting a new game. Or if you feel like playing a rather short game (short compared to RPGs, at least), then you can choose GH, TF2, or SC. It all depends on your mood I should go back to playing Metroid Prime...

TF2? Short?
. . .
*hysterical laughter*
Eh, just kidding. But if you've got two good teams, a single match of TF2 can go for over a half-hour, or longer. And as most games are composed of four or more matches... Yeah, that's quite the timesink right there.
Finally decided on watching a couple StarCraft replays, by the by. Discovered that Alex really has no idea how to effectively mass cannons, and that Daryl needs to direct his Carrier attacks a little more.

Cannons?
I don't like massing cannons. I could, but I don't like to.
Which replay?

@alex: 3vs5, us against the CPU. When you got pretty pwned in the first ten minutes, and spent the rest of the game leeching my much-needed minerals. All because you didn't pack your cannons tight enough. Shame, that. @ki: I said I was kidding, didn't I? But yeah. It's way, waaaay easy to sink hours into TF2.

I didn't cause I was gunna make ground units so they could get through.
If we do that again I'll pack them tighter. A lot tighter.
Actually I think the best idea is to have a bunch of cannons, and someone be terran and spam tanks. And then send them via drop ships. That would really secure stuff the best.

I know you did And I guess I also meant that, with a game like OoT and SoA, it's not just a fight and that's all; you can save anytime you want, sure, but you could be telling yourself "I'll do this and then stop", but end up continuing and... yeah. Did I make sense?

Yeah, true. Although, TF2 is so much pure fun that it kind of has the same effect. But I get what you're saying.
Also, Alex, I think Daryl and I were planning on having our SC match for the tournament tonight, if you want to watch. It'll probably be sometime after 10:00, since I'm out till 9:15.

So I started playing SoA again earlier today. Started from the beginning, now up to Ixa'taka. Jeez, I hate this place. Only part of the game that I don't love to death. Pacing is just too slow, and Moonstone Mountain is nothing short of arduous. Two dungeons for one country is just a bit much, in my opinion.

So I'm at work, pulling old hard-drives out of trashed laptops. Well, I call them laptops, but they have more in common with tablet PCs than actual laptops. Anyway, there's this one that's being monumentally stubborn. Newsflash, IBM! If I feel like I'd have more luck breaking into Fort Knox than I would pulling a hard drive out of a PC, you're doing it wrong.

That's how I would have reacted, anyway.

Damn near did. Finally figured it out. Seems that for that particular model, you have to open it before you can pull the hard drive. Considering that the screw holding the hard-drive in is on the bottom of the PC, this is a completely asinine and bass-ackwards design, but hey, I finally figured it out.

Ah.
If you hadn't figured it out, would you really have broken it?

Not on purpose, but yeah, I would've broken it eventually. Least it was an old computer. We're just getting rid of them anyway, but no PC can leave the company with a hard drive. So yeah.

Guys. GUYS. I think I might be in trouble. I was in my local Best Buy earlier, and I saw World of Warcraft sitting on the shelves, and I was about an inch away from buying it. Managed to dodge the bullet on that one, but I still walked out the door with the Warcraft III Battle Chest. I'm becoming a Blizzard addict, no joke.
I'M GOING DOWN A DANGEROUS ROAD, YOU GUYS. I need somebody to pull me off of it, quick. Or, alternatively, push me further down the road. I CAN'T BE STUCK IN THE MIDDLE LIKE THIS, MAN.
In other news, it's snowing like crazy. Boy, was that a bitch to drive home in.

Just slushy here.
I haven't driven in slush yet, so I wouldn't know if it's hard or not.
And actually if I dig around enough I probably can find my AoM. Except I never really played it that much...
But what version do you have DoD?

I think I have that too.
This weekend or when I have free time I'll load it up, learn how to play again (I never really played much of it though honestly) and then we'll play.
