Back to school this week; Once I get my feet back under me by the end of the week, I'll make a conscious effort to show up more. Or at least as much as I'm able; My schedule's pretty full, and my mom and I aren't on the greatest of terms right now.

- Three weeks into school. Current feelings: Introductory Bio is surprisingly cool, Stress Management is. . . meh, and Interpersonal Communication can go blow itself.
- Have been teaching myself how to play To Zanarkand on my sister's keyboard, with the help of sheet music and Youtube. Jesus Christ, is that piece hard. Thus far, I'm pretty solid on the intro, and am just now moving into the main melody. Been a while since I seriously played the piano; feels good to start again.
- Current obsession: Persona 4. I don't know what it is about the game that I like so much; Characters, story, setting, difficulty level (all of the above?). What I do know is that it's definitely ranking right up amongst my favorite games. Highly recommend it, even moreso than P3. If you're looking for a new kind of RPG experience, definitely give this one a look. Be warned, though; It's incredibly hard, especially at the beginning (expect to grind to level 17+ before you beat the first [real] boss), and it takes about four hours to get to the first "real" dungeon, but it's worth it, IMO.
Also, as a note; I'll probably be confining myself to this topic, for the time being, just 'til I get used to actually being here again.

Even though I own a ps3, I want to get persona 3 or 4... not sure what to get though. It really depends on the tone you're looking for in an RPG, since the two are just about identical when it comes to gameplay (P4 uses a tweaked version of the P3 engine). - Persona 3 is a really dark and grim game about a bunch of schoolkids who save the world through the power of friendship. - Persona 4 is a light, idealistic game about a bunch of schoolkids who try to solve a serial murder case by entering what basically amounts to a Hell-dimension. Basically, if you want Darker and Edgier, go with Persona 3, 'cause it's got that in spades. If you prefer Lighter and Softer, P4's probably more up your alley. (Side Note: I haven't even played The Answer portion of P3:FES, just because I found the main story to be so supremely depressing.) I challenge you to learn Midna's Desperate Hour and play it. That one's actually on my list. That one's got a lot of repetition, though, so it'll probably be easier to learn, even if it's not easier to play. Holy shit. I'm impressed beyond all reason; those things just look hard to use. |

You'd be amazed at the kind of things you can portray by simply omitting a few key details.  Also, gotta throw this out there; I am totally gay for Teddie here. Those of you who haven't played the game yet are going "wait, WTF dude!" Those of you who have played up to/past mid-July (if there are any of you) are probably smiling and nodding. Also also, The Almighty is just about the best boss theme I've heard for a while. That is all. |

My manager just got fired today. I have no idea why, either. So I'm in a weird place, as far as working goes. Basically, everyone in the department is kinda looking at their own jobs, making sure they're secure, and none of us really know what the fuck.
I can foresee only good times coming out of this! How about you guys?

Jesus Christ, it never rains but it pours. I take two weeks off for midterm testing, and wouldn't you know it?
Our wireless aircard crapped out on us. Swear to god. But it only halfway died. Basically, every website with a .com extension would time out on us. GameFAQS, Yahoo, proboards, LJ, even Google sometimes. ".net"s were about fifty-fifty; some of them would work, some of them would work if we hammered them hard enough, and some of them were all like "No, fuck you lolz". .org was, by and large, spared, as long as you didn't mind waiting for about two minutes for any page to load.
So yeah. We finally got a new card, so I can post again. I'm sorry I'm not ever fucking here, but Jesus. There are times when it feels like the entire world is out to get you.
