So Ava-fandom is fanDUMB. Jesus, the amount of entitlement I'm seeing has been shocking. "Oh, we've only had three whole months to speculate what this episode is about and get our own opinions locked in our minds forever and ever. Oh, what's this? Egads! This is nothing like what I thought should happen! How DARE the writers decide to tell their own story instead of the one that I want to see!? How dare they. . ." Yeesh.

So it is that I find myself looking forward to tonight's episode, because roughly half of it is taking the piss out of fannish stupidity and crack-induced theories.

Update: EIP was lolarious, there's a three minute sneak peek of Sozin's Comet over hurr (WARNING: MEGA SPOILER CONTENT FOR THE BEGINNING OF THE EPISODE), and Avafandom continues to piss me off and generally be completely full of fail. SO, business as usual.

So life has kind of sucked lately, and I've been feeling pretty down. Nothing serious, but man if it hasn't been hard to get up, some mornings.

Today? Today made that all better.

To my friends: Thank you for hanging out with me today. Splattering people in Halo isn't as much fun without someone else to spaz out about it with.

To Bryan, Mike, and the rest of the Avatar crew: Thank you. Thank you for giving me the most fulfilling narrative experience I've ever had. Thank you for saying "fuck you" to the fandom, and telling the story that you always wanted to tell. Thank you for ending my awesome day with the greatest two hours I've seen in television. I feel. . . cleansed after watching the final episode, like all the negative energy and bad feelings I had built up have disappeared. It made me feel like, if someone could create such a beautiful thing, put so much heart into that you just KNOW that they have believe what their characters are saying, then maybe this world might have something good left in it after all.

I know that a few others around here watch the show, so I'm going to say this right now. To anyone who hated the finale, or even hated just a few parts of it? Fine, have your opinions, I don't care. But. . .

Don't bring it up with me. I didn't realize it before now, but I've invested a lot of emotion into this show, and I will not be able to discuss any "errors" or "flaws" rationally. As far as I'm concerned, any errors that exist aren't anywhere near large enough to be worth note, and it's only going to come across as nitpicking, to me. SO: have all the problems with it that you want, hell, even hate it if you so desire, but don't air your grievances with me. Because my blanket response is going to be "Not your story, not your show, so shut the fuck up and deal with it, 'cause I don't agree and don't wanna hear it."

I've been feeling pretty hopeless lately. This show, of all things, brought some of that back to me. I don't want to let anything ruin that good feeling.

I think you misunderstood me (or I simply didn't express myself well). I'm not begging for someone to help me, far from it. I've always been one to think "it's my problem, so I deal with it alone", and it's only been recently that I've started opening up to others.

The reason I said how it's funny you spoke of hopelessness is to say that you've been keeping things inside while I'm trying to express them. I do believe it was you who said that we shouldn't keep everything to ourselves, that it's okay to ask for help, yet look what you're doing now.

I think you know where I'm going with this. Friends are for something, you know. Just because I have my own problems doesn't mean you can't tell me anything. I don't think everyone works the same way; just because you can't help someone else when you're not feeling well doesn't mean that's how I am, too. So seriously, dude. If you want to let something out, then let it out. It's unhealthy to keep it in. And if you're still not convinced, then think about it this way: misery loves company. So give my misery some company, will you?

Unless your reason for keeping it in is other than I think. But, yeah.

Best way to realize that you really don't need to take a certain class: Scoring an 80% on a test, when you literally do not know half of the subject material. Seriously.

Any and all: Sorry I've been AWOL for the last few days (and the last six months, but again, we aren't going into that). My PC's been having an overheating problem almost since the day I got it, and it finally decided to die on me last Thursday. I'm currently posting this from one of the school's computers, but I only have classes three days a week, and they're starting to monitor internet usage at work. With any luck my computer will be fixed by Saturday and I can be back full time, but for now I'll be sporadic at best.

PC's still on the fritz. Should be ready in a couple of days (God willing), but I'm still a little skeptical.

Picked up "Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World" on Friday, due to being bored out of my mind without my computer. Finished it last night/this morning, around 5:00. I'll post more details later, but bottom line: If you liked the original Tales and own a Wii, it's probably worth your time to get this game. If you don't own a Wii, don't worry about it. It's a good game, but it's not worth getting a console solely for ToS.

Gotta go. Only have 45 minutes until they shut down the PC room here, and I've still gotta check my e-mail and a couple other forums before I go.

Quick update:

Comp was fixed a couple weeks ago, no problems thus far. However, am in the middle of end-of-term-exam crunch, and thus have not had time to do much of anything w/ regards to online stuff. Have also been working 30 hour weeks at work. Will hopefully be back by end of next week.

EDIT: Work keyboard sucks, went back and removed instances of extra "m"s in post.
