Drake watched her nervously, sighing as she ate up the body of the assassin in what a crude humourist would say was 'one bite'. He had seen her do this, naturally, but it was still odd to see her change her body in such a way, and even stranger to watch her eat a body like that. Assassins who had come to the royal court were often disposed of by Juni, and since Juni had been training Drake, she had made him watch.
"Maybe we should leave now, Juni. Just so that, if another assassin comes, you will not have to... preform that once again. R-right?"

"If another assassin comes, we won't likely get the pleasure of not being too noticed. That disposal was for the purposes of keeping a low profile. Still, it is your decision."

"Hey don't underestimate my skills, my kills that need be quiet, aren't found until the corpse start smelling." Gentt had to admit seeing Juni like that was had somewhat calmed his growing lust for the image of what she'd be in a few years. He still didn't know how to think of the latest newcomer and could feel boredom creeping up on him. "I'm bored." he exclaimed. and took out a small dagger to fiddle around with.

OOC: I'll post later tonight if I can. Expect it to be edited into this post.
This series of events that just took place hit Melody hard. This was all brand new to her. The people around her have exposure to this sort of life. Melody has never purposely claimed a life before.
She suddenly felt she was in way, way, way too deep.
As if watching the body of the assassin in question slam against the ground wasn't disturbing enough for her first exposure, Juni's morphing and devouring of the body made her head light and her stomach churn. She muffled a squeak by clasping her hands in front of her face. Melody subconsciously leaned closer toward Prince Drake, him being the only person possibly resembling a protective figure in the room. She caught her self, though, squeaked again, and quickly leaned back a little too fast. She slipped from her stool and yelped when she hit the ground.
This was a wonderful example of her erratic control of magic. When she hit the ground, a flash burst of fire erupted around her arm, instantly burning up her sleeve, fully exposing the light of her fiery bracelet in the dimly lit bar. Her emotions hit breaking point and she collected herself and ran for the door, unable to deal with such a strain.
I never should of come. I...I can't do this. I thought this would be the perfect experience for me to learn some control. I knew killing would be involved and I thought it would be good for me. What good is fire if no one is harmed? I just can't do this...
I'm sorry Prince Drake.

Drake had been watching Melody's reaction to the killing and consumption of the assassin by Juni's hands, almost with a pang of guilt. he understood what it was like to not be used to these things, as he had once had to see it for his first time, a long time in the past. He was the first to see that she was about to fall, and although he failed to reach for her in order to stop her fall, he was the first to stand when she began to run.
"Melody, wait!"
He stood up and ran behind her, managing to catch her shoulder with his hand before she ran out the door. A slight frown was on his face, but he spoke to her regardless. "Melody, please do not leave. We... need you here."

Her feet stopped when she felt the light pressure of Prince Drake's hand on her shoulder. Tears fell lightly from her eyes and she couldn't make herself turn to face the Prince. Melody sobbed lightly, face away from Prince Drake, her only comfort being the light grip of his hand on her shoulder. Her arm began to tingle and the light of her bracelet dampened a bit, matching her change in emotion.
"Prince Drake...I..."
Her throat kept clamping up. Melody turned her head just enough for the slightest bit of eye contact. She took solace in his words. He seemed to understand the craziness that occurred and she felt he didn't care for bloodshed just as she did, necessary or not.
Then she remembered. This man is the reason she signed up for this. Now, she took comfort in the fact that whatever she went through, there wouldn't just be guiltless killers and shapeshifting mages to share company with.

"Oh... Melody, you burned yourself."
Drake held her arm now gingerly, observing the burn with a knowing eye as he tried to judge how badly damaged the flesh was, along with any muscle damage underneath. Holding her arm softly with one hand, he held his right hand over the injury, mumbling arcanic words under his breath.
Most people would not recognize this spell, except for Juni. It was a self-taught spell called Peace-Keeper, which used his calmness to heal wounds. Drake guessed that one day, if he were ever completely at peace, he could heal grandoise wounds, but for now, healing Melody's arm so that all that served of her burn was a bit of itchy new skin, it was good enough for him.
"There you are. Is that better?"

Melody's face grew bright as she watched Drake's tender observation of her burned arm. She's used to burning herself in training, so she didn't notice it right away.
When she thought of princes, she thought of regal and robust men, leading hunting parties and strutting through the town with a dozen armed men at their side. She thought of them being loud and strong and forceful, but Prince Drake was nothing like that. He was gentle, calm, and he had the emotional stability Melody longed to achieve. She looked over her arm. The burn was covered and the pain was easily manageable. By now, her tears were gone and she summoned a new composure, ready for whatever Prince Drake or his man-eating associate had in mind.

Gentt had stopped fiddling with the knife when Melody and Drake had rushed out. He raised his eyebrow, well wasn't that interesting. He had thought this would be a semi-easy job, which was of course boring, now maybe it wouldn't be has boring. He briefly considered going after Melody but Drake had seemed to have it hand. Juni and the new guy Juka? Kuka? weren't doing much. Gentt looked closer at Juni, he couldn't tell what she was thinking.
He lowered himself to her eye level and putting a hand on her shoulder asked, "are YOU okay?"

"Human emotions are complicated. It has been a very long time since I've experienced a complete array of human feelings."
With gently closed eyes, Juni tried to imagine the emotions she had over a millenia ago. None stood out, other than those that most humans dream of forgetting.
Now, setting aside all hatred she held for Gentt, Juni felt it necessary to try to maintain conversation.
"Gentt, how are the people around Melody supposed to treat her? Is it because she is shirking on her responsibilities that The Leader is pursuing her? For what purpose is she irrational?" Should we join with The Leader?"

"The people around Melody, it seems, should try to treat her like a sick flower. Handle her with kid gloves until she starts to loosen up, and that shouldn't take to long; she also needs to learn to adapt."
"The leader," he scoffed at calling Drake the leader, "went after her to make sure the shock wasn't too much, and I think he can handle calming her down. The only irrational thing, I can tell, is her lack of adjustment." After hearing Juni ask those questions he decided that she was back at full cuteness and couldn't help himself in sweeping her up in a hug.

He sharply turned away when Juni engulfed the body of the fallen assassin. He had no idea truly what this girl was but he'd seen quite a good deal of unusual (and horrific) things while he was on the road. He chose not to observe this occurrence as well. He soon found himself paying more attention the the scene before him, when Melody decided to flee.
Luka had been entranced on Drake's use of magic as he cleverly used his calm demeanor to heal the burn on the blond girl's skin. He himself knew three different levels of healing magic though it took more out of him than offensive magic because he did not originally have the capability to utilize it. It was that priestess he had met during his travels who had given him such a skill and for that, he was truly thankful.
His apathetic gaze drifted off, completely ignoring Gentt as he prodded the nerves of the redheaded girl. He wasn't one to be impatient but he had to admit (to himself, mind you, since he'd never say so aloud) that time was a factor and progress was needed to be made. He shifted a bit, staring off into space without any sort of readable expression.

"They've had more than enough time to mend feelings." said Juni, wriggling away from Gentt. She crossed through the bar, looking at Luka, implying that she wanted him to follow. She didn't need to look to Gentt. He would follow.
Juni moved through the bar, seeming to dance through groups of people, not making contact with a single one. She came upon Drake and stared at him. "Are you done?"

Luka followed without a word. At the moment he was nothing more than a pawn or, to have a less negative connotation, a mercenary. No, he did this not for money (though money would be helpful as he was a traveler and required food and shelter), yet did this just for it to be done. He was at a subconscious unrest now that a lack of justice was afoot.
He stood about a yard behind Juni, blank eyes on Drake as he waited to hear his reply. Perhaps they could get a move on.

Drake stood up, looking at Juni and Luka as he shook his head rather calmly, his stance firm as he began to defend his position. "No, we shall stay here for the moment. I do not feel we have the numbers as of yet to complete our task, Juni. We should wait for at least one more person before we even begin thinking about leaving. I apologize, but that is my final decision. I hope you find it fair, Juni."

Name: Rok Palatus
Age: 58, but appears to be in his early twenties at the moment
Gender: Male
Appearance: At the moment, Rok has long crimson hair and stands at about 5 foot 10. His eyes are yellow and his pupil and iris are shaped like a four pointed star.
Personality: Rok may be a mercenary, but he is quite loyal to his allies and employers. But he is also devious, and may deceive his enemies into thinking they are his allies.
Character Motivation to Join Army: Rok has spent most of his life as a mercenary, so he will work for the highest bidder, unless he distrusts the person.
Weapons: Rok can alter his form in such a manner that his nails will turn into interlocking talons that can be used in a way similar to that of daggers. He is very talented at close combat. On rare occasions Rok may summon one of two swords, to be described later.
Spells (limit to 10):
Shapeshift- Rok's main ability is that of shapeshifting.
Shapeshifting abilities-
Rok can alter his appearance to look like any human he desires.
Rok's species can shapeshift into six varieties of dragons. While the forms he takes are somewhat smaller than normal dragons, they are quite practical.
-Earth dragons, whose wings fold over their chest to form an armor that can withstand even bullets. They are also unbelievably strong. Earth dragons are brown and this form is about seven feet when on their hind legs. They are flightless.
-Fire dragons, who have high fire resistance and can spew it out of their mouths. Fire dragons are a deep red and this form is about seven feet tall on their hind legs. They can fly.
-Water dragons, who are long and slender in appearance. Their wings are transparent and fold over their backs and act as a pair of fins. They can breath in and out of water (both fresh or salt) and can withstand any amount of water pressure. Water dragons have moderately high defense, but are relatively poor fighters on land. They cannot stand on their hind legs, but this form is about ten feet long, and aqua colored. They are flightless.
-Wind dragons are the only one of Rok's forms that has feathers. Wind dragons are extraordinarily fast, but their bones are light and the species suffers the disadvantage of having little defense. They are slightly shorter and reasonably thinner than Rok's fire and earth forms. Wind dragons are gray-white in appearance and this form is about six foot six when on it's hind legs. Wind dragons can fly.
-Rok also has two additional forms that will be revealed later.
Rok can also mix the characteristics of any of his dragon forms with his human form, but only one element at a time (i.e. if he is using the characteristics of a fire dragon he cannot use the characteristics of a water dragon).
While Rok can transform into other things, it is significantly harder to do, as he is not used to such forms.
-Dark fire breath While in fire form, Rok can breath a fire that is absurdly cold instead of hot, and saps light out of the environment it is in. The flames are a combination violet, green, blue, and black. Dark fire can not ignite anything.
History: Rok is one of a rare breed of dragons called Shifting Dragons. While almost all dragons can shapeshift, this species is particularly adept at it. What is odd about this spicies is that they have no "original" form, and will often only appear as the four dragons described earlier.
(I haven't thought of much of a backstory for Rok as of now, but all that is really relavent about his past is that he has spent the majority of his life as a mercenary.)

Juni caught the view of Rok in her peripheral vision. It was hard to not see Rok. He was a very vibrant character. She turned from her company and walked in front of him.
"The Leader is this way. Make your introduction short. With the addition of you to our forces, we should have enough members to begin our journey."

Their time just outside the bar was going to be cut short, as the sound of jostling armour could be heard stomping towards them until a group of soldiers came into view, surrounding the group almost immediately. There were about thirty soldiers, ranging from normal guards to heavily armed shield-bearers, standing in the front. What Juni had not known was that there was a newly built army head-quarters just outside the city, and upon hearing some rather strange tips, infantry had been sent to the bar.
The captain of the ground made his presence known almost immediately, moving to the front of the group. He was an older man, one who Drake and Juni would have been accustomed to seeing around the palace. Once just a lowly guard, he had moved up the ranks to become a capital under the service of the King, which was normally an honour.
“Drake Armandi and any followers of Drake Armandi, we hereby demand that you surrender your weapons and come quietly with us,” the captain, who was known to many as Eric with his long silver hair and grey eyes, announced. “Any resistance will be seen as defiance upon the king, and we will be forced to kill you on the spot.”
Drake sighed. He did not want to fight, but it did not seem like there was going to be a choice. He removed the robe he had been forced to wear, revealing light armour on his shoulders, arms, and legs, black pants, and a white shirt. He removed the cover from his halberd, and stood in an offensive stance.
“We will not go quietly.”

Rok raises an eyebrow. Juni's lack of expression in her voice gives him the impression that she doesn't particularly care who he is.
As soon as Rok sees the guards approach, he becomes wary. He sprouts large red wings and hovers a few feet above the ground, so that if the guards attack he may begin the battle in the air, where they cannot easily attack him.

Melody was still stunned from the spontaneous act of kindness from one with such a status as Prince Drake. The new person who arrived gave Melody a strange feeling in her stomach. She cast it aside, though, when the guardsmen arrived.
She was in total awe of Drake's calmness and seemed to absorb the confidence Prince Drake was emitting. She unclipped her cloak at the neck and it fell to the floor, revealing her bright blonde hair and flowing red dress. The fire on her bracelet was growing in intensity, her confidence rising. She gripped the bracelet with her right hand swiftly, squeezed the orb, and then released.
In her right hand, a bright fireball was floating centimeters above her palm. She gazed powerfully at the rows of guardsmen. This was the right feeling. This was her stability with herself and her fire. This was a confident Melody.
"You will not harm the Prince."

Gentt brought his hand to his ear and took out his scythe. His scythe was about the size of a short sword and had an intricate design around the handle that looked like ivy. He considered soaking the guards and decided to use that as a last ditch effort. He began to meld into the background in hopes of dispatching the enemy before they saw him. If this guard had an once of competence then he would know who Gentt was and that could be trouble. He tried to give a signal letting "the leader" (he scoffed in his head at that title still) know he was ready.

Juni walked behind Drake, bowing her head in misery and shame.
"A new army headquarters... I was not prepared..."
Juni cracked her neck, tired from eating a whole human. This battle was going to require someone with certain abilities - abilities she lacked. Juni designed her skills to handle individual enemies, not large groups. She stood close to Drake, knowing that he was less capable of murder than she was.
"This is not training, Drake. Don't hold back."

"But... Juni, you cannot expect me to kill another human being. I know we are in a battlefield... yet... I apologize. I refuse."
Drake was afraid of the thought of killing someone. He did not want to be a man who was held responsible for taking another man or a woman away from their family and sending them to the afterlife. Even his parents, when they had been living, had stated their concern in having a son that would not choose to have a criminal or infidel murdered. Yet, no matter what anyone did, he could not see the point in killing someone, especially not people who had once served him.
"Everyone, if you can avoid killing them, please do so. We need to defeat them and run before their allies show up for support. Do not try and spend your time defending me, as you will end up being distracted."
Drake ran towards one side of soldiers, which were slowly approaching the group with weapons drawn. He engaged a soldier carrying a lance, who attempted to stab the young prince in the chest. Drake spun to avoid it, managing to land a skillful blow on the soldier's head with the flat portion of his axe, sending him to his knees. Other soldiers ran at Drake, and he ran into an ally to narrow them down. With some soldiers following him, it would narrow the amount everyone else had to fight.

Melody jumped into action, following the bravery of Prince Drake. Two soldiers singled her out, but her risen confidence kept her steady. She slammed her hands together, morphing the fireball between them. She pulled her right hand back again, but instead of a fireball, a chain of fire was there instead. This was her Incendiary Bonds.
She split the bonds between her two hands and, before the soldiers had a chance to rush her with their lances, she slung the chains at them, binding their hands together. When Melody squeezed her end of the chain, the heat of the chains tripled and the soldiers dropped their weapons, hands burned.
She followed through, drawing the knives from the folds in her dress in a rather quick motion. She approached the guards and smashed the end of the grips into their heads, knocking them out. She shuddered lightly from the violent action, but this was necessary. The world was a violent place and violence is something one should get used to.

Rok flies toward the guards, and lifts one into the air. He throws it into the other guards, witch shouldn't hurt them so much as disorient them. He flies behind the guards and lands so that a few of the guards will focus on him instead of everyone else.

...avoid killing them...
Trying her best to carefully plan an assault without completely mutilating her foe, Juni charged at 2 armored enemies equipped with lances. Juni lunged her open palm forward, catching the first man at the neck. The other man stabbed at her back repeatedly, but the girl withheld all emotional signs of pain, and continued gripping her targets neck, slowly warping and cutting the spinal cord from the inside out.
...avoid killing them...
The red headed girl-devil released her grip on the man, and turned to her other target, who appeared sweaty from the repeated stabs he had attempted. Juni caught and clutched the lance as he was about to spear her in the torso again.
Juni caught eye contact with the man. She smiled a devious, evil smile, capturing the man's greatest fears. The man loses grip of his spear and curls into a ball, crying in the fetal position.

Drake had led about seven guards into an ally, one of them being Eric himself. He brandished an impressive lance, complete with the royal banner hanging from it, along with several gold adornments. However, Drake had not known that this alley ended in a dead end. Soon enough, he had his back to a wall, with soldiers looming near as Eric led them.
"Well, young prince, this is your end," Eric drawled, an expression of sorrow on his face. "I am disappointed that one such as yourself would kill the king and queen. I did not think you had it in you, with your speech about not killing my soldiers."
"I did not kill my parents!"
Eric paused, and simply waved away his soldiers, who returned to the fray. He smirked at Drake, and shook his head. "I hate liars, Drake Armandi. Do you know what I do to them? I slash their stomachs open and let them try to stuff their intestines back into their body as they die."
Eric charged at Drake with his lance, which managed to cut Drake across the face. Drake attempted to fight back, but he was being outclassed severely by a man who had thiry years experience over the young prince. Drake tried looking for a way out, but eric blocked him every time. All he could do was try to defend himself.

Detecting a great peril soon approaching, Juni pivoted on her feet and followed the familiar feeling to an ally where her Prince Drake had been cornered. She charged towards Eric's turned back, catching his arms, grappling him back, delaying further attacks. Normally, Juni would have beheaded the man, but because of a combination of restraint, fatigue, and sleep deprivation (since she had been up all night arranging the group of fighters to arrive in the bar), Juni could only hold back the man with the same ability of an ordinary 12 year old girl. She clutched both arms back desperately, pressing her face tightly against the back of his slightly hairy neck.
"Lord Drake... Don't hold back!"

As the battle raged, Melody found herself wishing she worked more with her daggers. The battle was rather close up and very little room was available for her fire without massive collateral damage. When a lanceman charged her, she sloppily parried his thrust. It missed her chest, but struck her leg instead.
This was one of the first wounds she was dealt outside of the burns she received in practice. Though frightened at first, the pain was nothing to some of the burns she had. Melody remained steadfast and spun forward, bypassing the spearhead and slicing the man across the hand. She noticed he had no other weapon than his spear and she doubted he could wield it with one hand.
She glanced around the bar and took notice of her allies. Three men were moving in on Gentt: one man with a massive shield and two lancemen behind him. Melody slipped her daggers away and held her left hand out, the right pressing against the back of the left. She focused on the shield-bearer and closed her eyes tightly. The shield-bearer stopped suddenly, obviously feeling the increase of heat on his shield. Slowly, from the top, the thick metal of the shield began to become liquidy. It was melting. He panicked as his defense turned to slag. She followed through, aiming the spell at the spearheads of the other men. They lost heart and ran.
After a moment of rest, Melody looked for Prince Drake to report in. As she glanced around, though, she could not find him. Nor Juni. She felt a lump in her chest and wanted to run and go look for them, but she gathered her spirit and stayed to protect her new allies.
