Alrighty. I propose we reread all prior posts before continuing. I totally forgot who my character is.

OOC: Okay, here we go. Remember, objectives will be listed at the end of some posts in order to direct actions as the RP continues. Now, let's see what's behind the door! Also, as a note to Brandon, I apologize if the actions in this post seem skewed against your favour. --- The door finally opened, and when it did, there was total silence. At first, none of the group could see anything past the door, as there was only total darkness to be seen. The screaming and the fire alarm had faded away for a brief, beautiful moment. However, that moment ended quickly as every door but the one they had just opened slammed shut (including the door which Luctes was aiming to escape from), and the darkness permeated the hallway, leaving everything dark now, save for the room itself. There was fire. Room 327 seemed to have been engulfed in flames, with the desks in that room serving as pillars for the flame to be drawn to. From where the group stood, a mirror could be seen with a large crack running down the middle, and a man- well, what had been a man, standing in front of it. His skin was charred black, with most of his features indistinguishable. He should have been dead, but the group had to watch as he turned around and looked at them with eyeless sockets. "What are you doing here...? You must-" His last words were cut dreadfully short when his torso slid off of his hips and fell to the ground, both parts bursting into flame. It was a shock that such a thing had happened, at least until the group noticed two shadowy arms reaching out from the mirror, long claws dangling from the end of thin fingertips. Two eyes stared at the group from within the mirror. "I SHALL NOT BE DISCOVERED BY MORTAL BEINGS SUCH AS YOURSELVES." the being, whatever it was, spoke in a voice that was more like a computer than a demon or spirit. "MY WILL IS ABSOLUTE. THIS BEING SUFFERED THE CONSEQUENCES, AS WILL YOU."The two arms reached forward and, before anyone could react, grabbed Linda and Emily, before pulling them into the mirror. The creature did not reappear, and as the shadows in the hallway faded away, they revealed that the fire had spread during the time the group had watched the scene before them, getting into other classrooms and even the hallway. They needed to get out of there, fast. Objective 3: Fire is now spreading throughout the entire school! The group needs to get out of there, fast! You may feel a bit strange, but you've got to push that aside!

The scent of charred skin and hair could be distinguished from the choking tendrils of smoke, roaring about the room with the force of the fire behind them. Daniel was still, hardly able to react to what he had just seen. The teacher was incinerated, snapped in two halves, lying brittlely across the floor. The two girls were gone, completely. A strong compulsion to save them flickered in his thoughts but quickly faded as he realized he wouldn't know what to do. He wanted to scream, but the smoke was growing denser, forcing its way down his lungs until he choked up tears. A grim memory from just less than five minutes ago mocked him in his own voice. Everyone is only human, so don't be afraid of anything right now. Well, Daniel reflected as he regained a semblance of composure, he had been wrong. He turned to catch Amaya's eye apologetically, then shut his eyes against the burning smoke, forcing the tears that had been welling there to drop to the floor below. He then turned and looked up, the brim of his hat shading his face from the intense heat of the fire. He forced his gentle voice to rise above the crazed columns of fire. "People!" he yelled. "In case you haven't noticed, we've really got to get out of here!" Flames were edging towards the classroom door, creeping into the hallways, but it was the only way out he saw. "Come on!" He tried to edge them in the direction of the doorway.

A nervous laughter escaped her chapped lips. What was she so afraid of? The door opened to reveal nothing but darkness, and she had an urge to admonish herself for acting like such a scared fool when there was no proof of danger like a monster in a closet.
Her relief was short-lived when her breathing hitched from the sudden influx of smoke. Letting out a harsh wheezing cough, Amaya squinted through bleary eyes to see a silhouette of what should have been a man. Even with the harsh smoke and ashes in the air, Amaya stared at the charred half of a man with wide nervous eyes. For the past couple minutes, her only concern was saving someone from a fire, but the unsettling feeling in the pit of her stomach forced her to realize her life was also in danger. She shed the last of her diminishing composure with a blood curdling scream that followed the untimely deaths of two classmates. The disconcerting fact that their bodies somehow went through the mirror was dismissed in favor of saving them, but a part of her already knew there was nothing she could do.
Her bangs stuck messily against her damp forehead, and the threatening heat of the fire couldn't be ignored. Stifling a few coughs, she instinctively looked to Daniel. Considering his calm demeanor before, she hoped he could console her now, but she was only met with sympathetic eyes. Even with the thick smoke, the water in his eyes were hard to ignore. Her head shot up as he yelled (something she never expected him to do) and nodded in reply.
"The doors are all locked," Amaya yelled as she spoke through her muffled sleeve. She looked at Luctes worriedly knowing his attempt to escape failed. Despite her dwindling confidence, she pictured the map of the school in her head. There had to be a way out.
"We can't reach any emergency exits with all of the doors locked!"

Quentin felt nauseated by the images and sounds they'd encountered in the room. He stumbled into a desk, but quickly recoiled from the hot surface. He gasped, trying to find air between the waves of smoke and ash. His eyes unexpectedly landed upon the charred and black body, its face still caught in an expression of anguish and shock. He'd been friendly with this teacher as well. He closed his eyes, seeing only the figure in the mirror, speaking mechanically, grabbing the other students. He'd known the names, faces, and personalities of the girls, but had never spoken with them. He fell shakily into the desk again, then dropped to his knees. He looked up suddenly, confidently, right before Daniel shouted out at them. It was easier to breathe down here. It made sense, given the hot smoke would travel as upwards as possible. He then turned to look at Amaya, as she talked about the doors. The fire was roaring around them. He lifted an arm to shield his face from the heat and debris. The room let out a low, exaggerated moan, proving itself structurally unsound. He coughed, then tried to raise his voice above the flames. With every attempt he seemed to fail, but it was important he remind everyone not to die of carbon dioxide poisoning. He stood up and darted to Daniel, who seemed to have taken everyone's attention for a moment. "Daniel," he coughed. "We've got to crawl out of here." He hoped the boy had heard him. "The heat will be less intense on the floor, same for the smoke. Amaya broke the door when we came in here, we can at least get into the hallways, there should be less fire there, but it will spread fast. There are windows in a lot of the other classrooms; if we can get into one of those, we can break outside." His voice was quiet and strained against the smoke. Quentin looked Daniel in the eye worriedly, needing to have been heard.

Daniel looked at Amaya and nodded. "We'll have to find a way out besides a door then," he responded, voice even as his mind raced through possibilities, even as the smoke and heat burned his eyes and skin, and flooded his lungs. Just then he noticed Quentin, who had fallen to the ground. He felt something like panic at the idea of losing someone else today, but suddenly Quentin stood up and dashed over to him. Daniel strained to hear what the boy had to say, and when their eyes met, he nodded in understanding. "This guy's right!" Daniel shouted to the remnants of their group. "We can crawl, it will be safer. Let's get into the hallway and look for a window to escape through!"
Daniel remembered looking out the window of room 342 when he'd first arrived at school today. But if the doors were locked, how could they get into the classrooms and through the windows? Either way, this room was becoming more and more dangerous, and they were running out of time to escape the fire at all. It was spreading wickedly through the school now. They had to hurry. Daniel dropped to his knees and began to crawl, finding the altitude to indeed be more manageable.
((And... we still need ST and GE to reply? Would that be everyone still in the RP then?))

More flustered than freaked out, Luctes turned from the recently shut door and hurriedly walked back to the classroom the group had gone to enter. Upon turning into the doorway, he promptly heard the sound of a teachers organs collapsing to the ground, and an unholy being taking away two people that he had seen just moments prior.
Almost in a state of (VERY MINOR) shock, Luctes didn't react to Amaya's frightened shrill towards her. All the doors are locked? Huh, I didn't even push the door. I should go check on that...
Through blinding amounts of smoke and char, Luctes found his way back to the door that he hadn't opened before, and casually pressed the hot horizontal bar, swinging the door completely open. Similarly to a boss.
"It's not locked... the door, I mean. We should go."

OOC: And that's everyone! Also, cudos to ST for noticing that the doors weren't locked! I have to admit, that's kind of funny.
---
Helen didn't say a thing. She watched the teacher being divided in two, she noticed the fire growing higher, and she saw two of her classmates disappear into the mirror, grabbed by some demonic being who didn't seem interested in the fact that the entire group was probably going to die in the flames, trapped by the closing doors which had seemingly locked them in.
Helen's normally cool facade broke for a moment, and you could see sheer panic on her face, the fear that only someone facing death was able to experience. She wasn't one to say she believed in any sort of higher power, but if it would help, she was willing to get on her knees and pray. However, the shock on her face quickly faded as everyone began to panic and try to find a way out. She was responsible for these people, like it or not, and she felt it was her duty to get them out alive. She glanced around for a way out when she noticed Luctes opening a door.
"Guys!" Helen yelled over the roar of flames, eyes watering. "There's a door over near Luctes that's open, come on!"
Ignoring everything she learned in fire safety class, she ran to the door, instead of crawling, keeping her sleeve over her mouth and nose. She ran ahead of Luctes in order to check that there wasn't any flame in whatever room they were entering, but when she entered the door, she let out an audible gasp.
It was the stairwell, of all things. Not only that, but oddly enough, there was no sign of smoke or flame along the stairs. In fact, a warm light glowed throughout the stairwell, and it smelled faintly of fresh rain and rose blossoms.
"What the-"

Someone must've been selling as assload of weed, because I think I'm high.
Shrugging, Luctes proceeded down the stairs cautiously, completely terrified of whatever shit might pop out at him and shank him. Each step downward was a little more pleasant smelling. It was smelled like the god damn garden of Eden.
Standing at the bottom of the stairs, Luctes turned and looked back to everyone. "Other than the two from before, are we all still here?"

Daniel watched Helen run to the door, then quickly stood up and followed. He arrived to hear Luctes ask his question, and looked around him, hoping to see the others here as well. It was then he noticed the weird glow and pleasant smell, but wasn't sure what to make of it.
