Hey all. Somber news for my journal update. I'm not sure if you remember my friend from a while ago. He posted as Susurrous here, I think (can't quite recall). He was only here briefly, but he did a bit of RPing and writing with us. Anyway, he passed away yesterday morning. He had been living with me very recently and was struggling intensely with PTSD and depression. Again, not sure if you'll remember much of him, but thought I might share.

You're right, that is absolutely absurd. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. To remedy this, I completely redid the ranking system. You now become a member at 1 post, and all ranks that were previously below 'Member' have been removed, except for the 'Dead Fish' rank at 0 posts, which was renamed to 'Not really a member'. Ranks above 'Member' have now been reshuffled as well, and can be seen at this link. Note that the star count for 'Member' was reduced from 3 to 1, but you now receive an additional star at 500 posts, for a total of 2 stars. Congrats on finally making it! |

It's something to work toward, now! And I wouldn't be so sure they've quit. I sent out a mass email to every ToM member earlier today (Which Proboards says may take a few days to send) inviting everyone back, and I fully expect every single one to return!
Aw, but you'll get it back in just 100 more posts! And after that I made stars far easier to get, too!
My only regret is that I can't apply the new ranking system to myself.

Hayley If I stepped down, who would take awesome administrative actions like rebalancing the ranking system? Besides, I can't modify anyone's staff status, including my own, and I don't think Brandon would be willing to come here to do it. Maybe some of the returning members can break our "____ of the year!" deadlock! |

Unrelated: I propose putting ToM on a death timer that resets whenever someone posts. If ToM ever goes a full 31 days without any posts at all, the entire forum and all content will then be permanently deleted. Thoughts?
