'Look at all the dead people... I don't think any of us is going to end up in Heaven.'
Lilliana squeezed blood out of her pigtails. it splashed onto the ground. She wiped blood from her eyes, and spit a little off of her lips. The girl felt inspired to change the color of the blood to something else. She hesistated, and realized that there was nothing creepier than a girl covered in blood standing on a mountain of corpses, chuckling joyfully. She left the blood red.
'Well, what are you guys gonna get with your money? Weapons? Women? I think I'm gonna have to buy more soap.'

Simeon thought for a moment, and then said, "I'm gonna buy my restaurant back. That was fun. but not as much fun as blowing horsies and rebels to hell."
As he said that, he chucked his knives in the air a few times, and checked the stoppers on a few vials of poison.

Davian chuckled out loud. He loved this little girl. Surrounded by dead, ringing blood out of her hair, she's making small talk as a wedge of trained cavalry is on it's way to try and kill her.
"I'd probably work on getting us a permanent headquarters. Maybe some lackeys too. So we can handle bigger contracts."
As the thundering hoof-beats grew louder, a wicked smile crossed Davian's face. He drew his sword and stood in a ready position, signaling for his comrades to do the same. The oncoming force had no clue where the gas was.
As Simeon put so nicely, it was going to screw with their day.
The wedge was in a good view now. He could see many of the cavalry were armed with swords, not bows. This was a classic technique of the Tenmau warriors. They would engage in melee combat, then retreat. Guards would be drawn from their shield line and pursue the fleeing cavalry. Then, the cavalry would turn and begin shooting down the separated guards.
Harder to do that with only five people who know what they're doing.
The leader of the wedge cast his sword high in the air and shouted a battle cry. The wedge followed suit. But then, the shattering sound for glass could be heard. Five times. They horses trampled right over the vials of Eye Gas. The first dozen or so got through, but the rest of the fifty or so warriors began screaming in pain. Horses cried loudly and bashed into each other. Men and horses fell over as their eyes burned from the intense pain.
The first dozen reeled around to see their allies in pain from an unknown gas substance. The leader of the charge, seeing there was no help for them, continued the charge. Davian struck back with a lightning bolt to the leader's horse, knocking him to the ground. The charge continued. The leader set his eye of Davian. He charged him with sword high.
Davian held position to help fend off the cavalry. Then, he would deal with the leader.

Simeon fist pumped the air as the gas did it's work. Pretty strong, he might have to make it a little less effective if he subtlety was necessary.
A horseman charged right at the chemist, and Siemon chucked a vial of Skin slime at the mans face. The creaming warrior fell of the horse, his face melting under the chemicals activated by skin membranes.
Another warrior decided to try and play it safe, getting off his horse and advancing slowly on foot behind a large buckler. Simeon drew out a rather long knife, and licked the edge, starting a slow, menacing laugh that built to a crazy cackle of insanity.
"I'm gona skin you alive, me boy! And cut out your heart., real fast like. Then, I'm a-gonna feed your eyeballs to me crows! BWAHAHAHAHA!"
The warrior put down his sheild and looked at Simeon in horror. The chemist took the chance and lunged, stabbing the mans jugular and rendering the trachea useless.
He noticed Davian ((srry 4 godmodding)) staring at him in confusion. "Ah come on, boss. I wasn't really gonna do it..."

OOC: I don't care bout minor things like that.
As this point in the fight, Davian praised the gods that he chose splintmail over chain. He swung low and began cutting the hamstrings of the standing horses. As the horses flipped about, random hoof stikes battered his torso. It hurt, but it wouldn't cause lasting damage.
Most of the men began to dismount and engaged on foot. Some of the men from the gas attack were stumbling out, dismounted, drawing their bows. Bows were bad. Still hacking at the initaial attackers, he shouted his orders, "Tekrias! Pull your summon on their back flank! He won't be hurt by the gas! Lilliana! Get behind me and start taking out those archers! Aero, Simeon! Keep it up on this first attack and guard Tekrias!"

Hmm. Take out the archers? Hmm! I could rip out their organs, but that'd take me some time to get to them... Fireballs aren't effecient or precise enough... And Wind isn't powerful enough. Leaving me with... OOH! THAT will be FUN!
Lilliana took her position, she held her hands apart, and the shimmering sound chains felt forth from her fingertips. These finger extentions were exactly what she needed. Looking nearby for dead horses, or preferably, injured ones, she gripped onto one to each finger. 10 horses were attached to both her hands.
'Watch this Davian... this'll make you laugh a lung out.'
She threw her arms back, and whipped her right arm forward, letting a horse soar through the air, smashing into an archer, and a good few enemy soldiers. She threw another, and it whinnied as it flew through the air, landing on top of another archer. The third, she felt more creative. She lengthened the chain on her finger as best as she could, and she swung the horse though the crowd of people, while still gripped onto the beast. The slaughtered mean on the end, she tossed forward, dripping blood and flesh on the soldiers as the carcass plowed into another targeted archer.
'I've never been so glad to be alive.'
Lilliana held onto her horses (OMG LOL), as she looked to find the rest of the bow wielding soldiers.

As the battle went on, more blood spilled, and the air thickened with the stench of blood. The foul smell was carried far... far enough to reach the young woman who stood miles away from the battlefield, observing the fighting.
The young woman continued watching, not moving. She may not be that famous, but her name had begun being known by many people, and her face wasn't too unfamiliar; some might be able to recognize her to be the treasure huntress known as Papillon. The expression on her face was a grave one, her hazel eyes still fixed onto the ongoing battle.
"This isn't good..." she muttered under her breath. She wasn't too fond of fighting, even though she was skilled with her rapier.
"And just when I was going to cross the border..." Papillon sighed. She could continue watching until the battle ended, but there was something that intrigued her; five warriors were fighting a whole fleet of cavalry. It sounded impossible, but it was obvious the five of them weren't ordinary warriors. Maybe if she gave them a hand, the battle would end faster.
Maybe it's not so bad after all, Papillon thought as she unsheathed her rapier, the blade gleaming under the sun. She felt ready. It shouldn't be too hard, especially since most of the men had already dismounted. Fighting soldiers on foot was easier for her. Papillon began running towards the battlefield, ready to strike.
"Ha!"
With a brave cry and a graceful move, she had already stricken the first rebel; a swift attack that lead to his immediate death.

As Davian fended off warriors trying to attack Lilliana, he saw the horses fly toward the archers. He laughed loudly as he continued to spar with the Tenmauans.
She's one of a kind.
As more Tenmauans stumbled out of the gas, fiercely rubbing their eyes, more swords came to match the Elite. But someone else had arrived. Davian had been with his comrades for years to know each of their voices clearly. This new cry in the battle stumbled him. He looked to his right to see a girl, older than Lilliana, fighting the Tenmauans with speedy rapier skills.
As a fellow sword user, suffice to say, he was impressed.
"Hey, rapier girl! Get over her, your flanks are open and there are too many!"

"Rapier girl?" Papillon repeated, "I was given many names, but that's a first!"
She laughed, "no matter. We'll do the introductions once this battle's over."
With that, Papillon ran to where Davian motioned, and got in a spar with one of the rebels. The rebel swung his weapon at her, but she dodged it easily, and immediately thrust her rapier at him, aiming at his heart. With such speed, the rebel didn't have time to avoid the attack. He fell to his knees, dead. Papillon withdrew the rapier from his corpse, the blade stained completely with blood still gleaming brilliantly in the light. More rebels were coming, and she began fighting them off.

OOC: She can be a rebel that changes her ways? I'onno.
Tekrias nodded to Davian, and turned to Ifrit.
"Still got your hops..?"
Ifrit snorted out fire and smiled. The horned summon reared back, crouched a little bit, and jumped. A better word to describe what Ifrit did, was that he soared over the front lines and the dangerous gas. Ifrit, landing, began hacking away with his blazing claws, occasionally stopping to light one of his adversaries on fire.
Tekrias grinned until Ifrit cried out. Four arrows stuck out of Ifrit's back from the rebel archers. Tekrias turned to Lilliana and formed one of the longest sentences he had formed in a while.
"Lilliana... archers... Ifrit can't take much more of that..."

Lilliana was rather peeved. She looked at Ifrit, with a few arrows in him, and her eyebrows dropped into a very serious face.
'Really? Have the 5 foot, 3 inch tall girl protect the massive beast? Isn't that his job? I swear, why not just summon a massive pregnant woman to whine and cry about her baby weight.'
The girl clutched the chains. Her temper has grown ver thin in that instance, and she steeped back, and launched the 7 other horses into the crowd of people. The chains of sound retracted into her fingers, and Lilliana stood beside Papillon. She nodded, trying to be as polite as possible while still retaining her focus on the battle.
'Do me a favor! Watch my back after I fire this!'
The girl held both hands firmly in front of her, as a swirling mass of yellow fire conjured before her open palms. The orb of fire was growing large. Larger than the first one. This one was already larger than the girl casting the spell.
But it grew. The young girl was screaming at the raw pain of maintaining such a dangerous and massive force. Her legs shook, and sweat poured from her face. But the ball kept growing. The fires were about double the size of Lilliana when she called her allies to watch out. She fired the raging spell straight into the oncoming soldiers, and it tore through them, so many of the soldiers dodging, getting burned, tearing up the ground, slowly depleting strength after so many of the enemies had been scorched. As it reached the end of it's power, the girl smiled. Her body stumbled back a bit, and her upper torso had become slack.
'I... need a minute... That took a whole lot out of me.'
Lilliana trusted her allies enough, and decided that she would need some time to recover. There was no need for her to pass out on the battlefield.
She stepped back more and closed her fist. Her hand sparked, but that's all that could have been summoned up. Her reserves of magic had been used up. She looked at Papillon.
Who is this girl with the rapier? Is there something that everyone forgot to tell me?

In the flurry of steel, horse, and gas, the numbers of the Tenmauans were beginning to thin and the signs of fatigue were beginning to show their ugly little faces for Davian and his team.
As he cut down more soldiers, he noticed a bright light coming from his left. He didn't look to see what it was until a massive ball of fire flew through the ranks of men. Good thing that gas wasn't combustible.
He looked over at Lilliana, smiling to see her put in so much will to fight. Her body became slack though. Her attack used up larges amounts of energy. "Lily!" he cried with worry as he cut down one of the few remaining soldiers trying to attack her. He hopped in front of her, blocking an arrow against his splintmail and shot lightning at the unfortunate archer stupid enough to try and harm her.
At this point in the battle, Lilliana racked up the most carnage. She pushed her limits though and now is out of energy to fight. This new girl, though, was a great helping hand. Now, only the leader of the charge and a few remaining soldiers were left to combat the Midland Elite. The leader, hoping to exact revenge, met eyes with Davian and ran for him with his blade high. Davian knew the new girl was still beside him. He turned his head and said, "I'm Davian by the way." Then he turned and raised his cackling blade to catch the downward swing of the Tenmau captain.

OOC: As usual a little rewinding...
Aero's job was to keep on attacking the enemy, while at the same time protect Tekrias. Did the boss really think he could make himself into two people? But, whatever the boss says to do he has to do. So Aero did what he does best. Attack people.
Aero placed himself in front of Tekrias, trying to look important. A large group of soldiers were running at him, yelling out battle cries, the only way men can scream without looking like little girls. Aero ran forward towards them. Behind him he heard Tekrias order Ifrit to jump over them. A large shadow fell across the earth as Ifrit soared across everybody, and landed behind, causing major destruction.
Some rebels took a look at Ifrit, and started running towards Aero, screaming like little girls. Aero smiled. Aero leaped forward and spun. His airholes pushed out air, making his leg whip around quickly and smack into the first rebel's head. As the rebel was falling down, Aero stepped on his head and jumped off. He flipped and brought his heel down on the next guy who came. Aero continually smacked down rebel after rebel.
Some of the more experienced rebels were cautious about Aero. They slowly approached him and... Aero ended up being surrounded. Again. Do I really want myself to die that badly?
Suddenly Lilliana yelled out something. Aero wasn't listening. He was too busy being surrounded. Then he heard a giant fireball. He looked behind him and saw a fireball rushing at him.
Shit shit shit shit! Aero breathed in deeply, as much as he could. He leaped up, and landed on one of the rebel's head. He jumped off again, this time with air coming out of the bottom of his feet. He shot up, just as the fireball came and flared everyone below him.
After awhile in the air, Aero realized something. He didn't plan about coming back down. He started falling, screaming in panic. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" He rolled himself into a ball, hoping he wouldn't break too many bones.
Thud! Crack!. Aero opened his eyes. He was sitting on a charred rebel. Probably won't be moving for awhile since I broke his bones. Aero got up, dusting ashes off of him. He was tired. He got sliced in the chest, used up a lot of energy to jump, and now he had dead man remains on him. But the boss never ordered him to be tired, so Aero would keep on going until he died.
He saw Lilliana looking unstable. Her and Tekrias were pretty vulnerable alone. He started running towards them and wheezed a little bit. Aero clutched his ribs, realizing he might of fractured or broken one of his rib bones. I had worse before. he thought, I just hope that this job also has medical insurance. Aero took his hand off his ribs, and started running towards Lilliana and Tekrias.

Papillon continued fighting off more rebels. A girl came next to her, covered completely in blood. That was a fearsome sight, and had Papillon hadn't guessed the girl was part of the group fighting the rebels, she would have been intimidated. Despite her frightening look, the younger girl tried being polite to Papillon and had asked for her help while she summoned a massive amount of magic.
After the spell was cast, the girl had tumbled back, but Papillon didn't really need to look after her; after all, not many soldiers were left, including the leader, so she was pretty much safe. As the rebel leader began charging, the man that stood beside Papillon introduced himself. Papillon gave him a smile, even if he might not see it, and said, "And I'm Papillon. Nice to meet you."
And with that, Papillon tried going behind the rebel captain, who charged at Davian, and aimed her rapier at the back of his knee; if she damaged his knee, he wouldn't be able to move then.

Papillon...
Davian thought he had heard the name before, but couldn't focus on it that well in the heat of battle.
He saw Papillon's great speed as she vanished and appeared behind the Tenmauan captain. She jabbed her rapier at the back of his knee. He turned his head and tried to parry, but the thin blade struck home. He screamed and Davian took the opportunity. He swung his sword vertically behind him in a hard arc coming down, severing the leader's sword arm from his body.
His screams showed no signs of confidence like the battle cries he yelled not so long ago. He began to stumble away, but tripped from the crippling wound to his knee. With a major limb lost, the blood loss would kill him in due time. As Davian looked around, he saw the few remaining men flee the long distance back to their border. Some collapsed and would die from the blood loss. Only two or three or the sixty Tenmau cavalry survived the power of the Midland Elite.
The Tenmau captain was face down in the dirt. Davian knelt beside him, resting his arm on his sword stuck in the ground. He pulled the man's head up by his black ponytail. The captain grunted. Davian spoke to him, "What is your name? Why did you attack Solaris? Who is your superior?"
At first, the captain just spat at Davian. He asked again. The captain spat again. Davian sighed. He plucked his sword from the ground and held the cold blade against the captain's remaining arm. A third time, Davian asked. The captain said nothing. Davian raised his sword and was about to bring it down when the captain said something resembling words.
"What did you say?" Davian asked.
The man spoke the same uninterpretable words. Davian scratched his head. "He's speaking Tenmauan."

Papillon gazed at the fallen captain as he spoke. He probably didn't understand what Davian had asked him, seeing as he hadn't replied to his questions yet. Luckily for her, travelling the world in search for treasures had taught her many other things, such as the Tenmauan language.
Papillon approached him, and spoke in the same tongue, asking him what Davian had asked. The captain responded, although Papillon was a bit confused by what he said. Her gaze turned to Davian, and she spoke, "He said his name is Ork'am. He was hired by Rufare to assist the rebel attack, and he belongs to the Cobra Venom clan. He also said that his contract listed no name, only that he was of Rufare."

The forces fled, and Lilliana had been watching the graceful swordplay of her ally, and the girl.
'He cut that guys arm off.'
A pleasant grin popped onto the girls face, and she scurried over to the 3 people, plucked the arm up.
'Uhm... you guys don't mind if I could have this little old arm as a trophy, right? I mean, he's not going to use it... heh heh...'
Not even waiting for a response, Lilliana slung the arm up onto her shoulders and scurried away.

Davian watched little Lilliana drag away Ork'am's limb. That was normal. What wasn't normal is Tenmau teaming up with Rufare.
Davian knew much of the larger Tenmau clans, such as Wolf's Blood and Soaring Hawk. The Cobra Venom clan wasn't known my many, but Davian had a personal run-in with them a few years ago. They are the pariahs of Tenmau. Although the Cobras live and fight like Tenmauans, they don't think like them.
The other Tenmau clans are against banishment or execution, so they formed the forceful outcasts into their own clan. This clan, not welcomed by their horse brothers, work mainly as quick strike forces hired by independent bandits to avoid political tension. If they did something that did not please the other tribes, it could lead to their death.
The anonymous contract was a mystery. The man who delivered the contract obviously did not want to be known, likely so he couldn't be tracked down, lest his forces perished as they did today.
A dead end.
Either way, he nudged Ork'am and pointed toward the nearby border to Rufare. Without words, he told him to cross the border. Guards came by after the fights to kill those who aren't dead yet. Ork'am slowly began to crawl away, leaving a trail of blood. Davian picked up Ork'am's sabre and planted it in the ground where the blood trail began as a marker.
Davian sighed and turned to his team and new ally. "Excellent work guys. It was rough, but we defiantly earned that paycheck coming in. Papillon, thanks for your help. Come back to our base with us. I'd like to know why you helped us."
