On YouTube.
Believe it or not, as a dedicated Zelda fan, I enjoyed them. Yes, the characters completely clash with the rest of the Zelda canon, but I kinda like it. Truth be told, I think Ganon needs to be portrayed like a spellcaster a lot more, instead of the all-too-common powerful warrior or near invincible swordsman. Make him teleport, make him float out of range and cast a devastating AoE spell, make him fling off more volleys like he did in OoT. In the first Zelda, he was portrayed as a demon warlock. Now he's just a swordfighter.
Ganon's a cool villian, he just doesn't have the level of badassery he would if he were still a sorcerer.

I had watched the cartoon a long time ago, and had forgotten everything. I recently watched the first episode, though.
If I were to compare the characters with the games' ones, it was terrible. Link and Zelda are too snobbish and annoying, they don't look anything like the videogame version of them, and they're just terrible.
However, if I were to detach the cartoon characters from the videogame ones, then it's not too bad. Actually funny, too. The first episode was, at least.
And Ganon looks like a pig XD
I wonder if the cartoon was made to mock the videogame, in a way?

Not in mockery. It's an 80s cartoon, and such plotlines were fairly common with 80s American cartoons. A lot of what you saw was interpretation of the first game, hence the videogame noises. Back then, Zelda was little more than an arcade game, and didn't have much of a concrete story to it. That really didn't show up until the SNES Zelda.

Yeah, true. On the first Zelda game, there wasn't really the Triforce concept; there was the Triforce of Wisdom and of Power, but not of Courage. And there was only two of the Triforce in the cartoon, so that's also an element that shows it was based on the first game. Was Link made to have dark brown hair in the beginning, though? And I think he was right-handed in the cartoon.

I used to have a video of the old Super Mario cartoon, but I think I sold it. ;; And I hate it how they made him a righty in the cartoon. That's plain wrong. I love Link the Lefty, not "Link the Righty". Bleh! But yeah, I'm SOOOO grateful that they made him a blonde (with strawberry highlights, in the sun!) later on!!

I know. Link is MADE to be a lefty! I also didn't like how they inversed everything in the Wii, so it also made Link a righty. That's a no-no. His hair rocks now

Ugh, I HATED it on the Wii. Foxxi has Twilight Princess for the Wii, while I have it for the GC. We hardly play it on the Wii. XD I think we're... collecting the second batch of tears on there. WE're a helluva lot further on the GC.

XD If I were to get TP, I'd rather get it on the GCN. I don't even have a Wii, to start with and I'm also left-handed, so if I were to get a Wii, I need to take a while to adjust to a game, cause I'll either have to play with my left hand and have everything inversed, or get used to using my right hand.

They have an option for lefties, I believe.

Twilight Princess is responsible for a very famous tune in videogaming now...
And I've actually beaten the game. The end is depressing, but you get the feeling that Link's become one hell of a player. Even more so than in OoT.
We ought to be glad he's the silent, polite type in Twilight Princess, rather than being depicted as he is in the show.

Wulfi: Truly? That's good to hear. I might consider getting a Wii, then Dr. Ivo Robotnik: Wish I could beat the game. I had played till like half-way on my cousin's Wii when I had travelled to the UAE last year, but then I had come back and my little cousins deleted my file... >.> And I had done so much, too. Oh well. And yeah, although I wish he could talk a bit, I'd much rather have a silent Link than have the Link in the show in the game. He's always whining

Whiners are annoying, no matter what gender they are.

There are at least 5 girls who are either attracted, or directly like him in the story. One is obvious, one is a childish crush, and two are Hena and Iza. Hena and Iza will flirt with Link in ways that seem a little...uncomfortable.
Sounds to me like perfect harem material to me.

Link has always been liked by several girls... What a player XD

Of the 5, only two are serious, though, and both are obvious.

Yeah, but still. He's still liked by many girls And it's like that in almost all the Zelda games, too, I believe.

Yep. The main three in OoT are Malon, Saria, and Zelda.

What's her name... Nabooru? She also hinted at being attracted to Link. And there's Ruto, although Ruto is just silly.

Oddly enough, in an interview with a Nintendo developer, Navi was an official one also.
Kinda reminds me of the cartoon, especially episode 3. You'll note that Spryte sexually teases Link in that episode. It makes you wonder how that even made it past standards.

Navi? Having a crush on Link?
That's... quite odd.

What made it worse was Spryte's...really disturbing giggle. It kinda sounded like a baby being tickled.

On a different note, while it's true that the show's Ganon came off as clumsy, there are a couple of plots that he comes up with that are master strokes: Had his minions not been so dimwitted, the end result would have meant complete disaster.
Namely speaking, His Capture Staff plot, his pegasus abduction, and the Doppleganger.

Pegasus abduction, I remember that. But overall, Ganon isn't as wicked as in the game. And his minions aren't so idiotic in the game, either. I think.
btw, since we're on the subject of Zelda, have you ever heard the song done by a guy named Joe Pleiman about Zelda? It's usually mistaken to be made by System of a Down (cause of the voice similarities), but it's not by them.

Ye gods, I hate that song. With a fiery burning passion. Truth be told, it's not ungodly horrible, just a bit out of the norm, but my friends WON'T STOP SINGING IT.
Original topic: I've avoided the cartoon to the best of my ability ever since I heard about it. See, being a blond, left-handed quiet guy, I've always sorta been able to identify with Link, and the one from the cartoon is completely the opposite of game-Link.
*Shrug* I may check it out eventually, but I'm not expecting a whole lot.

I like it, it's funny. Then again, I don't have friends constantly singing it Like I said, if you want to watch the cartoon and enjoy it, you gotta detach it from the game. Try not to think too much about the videogame characters while watching the cartoon. Hard to do, but it's to avoid disappointment.
