Hey nerds. I’m getting married in 2 days and haven’t written my vows. Why? Because I’m busy. Here is a rough draft.
I can’t promise you adventure, the planes in the sky, fancy cheese, fine wine, or a travelers life. Because what do we have when the sights have been seen, every landmark, peak, and valley a memory. The world isn’t that big. If a love is based on adventure, there are only so many places to go.
Let me promise you home. A stable place to rest. I promise to complain just a little putting your shoes away and hanging up your coats and vests.
I promise you’ll wake up to a house that’s neat, because I’ll pick up the mess we left last night where you forgot your bowl of cherry pits next to your living room seat.
I promise you won’t feel alone, because a happy house is bustling, warm, has light and life, all on display for us to see, and love hidden all throughout.
I can’t promise you an adventurers life, but I promise we’ll have a beautiful life.
