Cetasaurus should be cancelled for this, and the polls should be redone with someone else in charge.

How do we even know the people Suspense killed didn't have it coming?

Maybe Suspense is the reason why this forum is dead.

As the final round of voting ended in the tie, per the rules set out by Cetasaurus, I am to decide the winner through an opaque process that I super duper promise isn't biased. Toward that end, I won't be elaborating on how I came to my decision at all, but I super duper promise it wasn't biased.
With that in mind, I've completed my process, and the winner of the 7th ToM Writing Competition is... simple tactician's invisible story, the 70 pages he didn't write of the first in his new series of statement pieces, "Glorietta and the Slutty Popcorn Machine"! Had he actually written it, I'm sure it would have charmed us all.
Congratulations to all who entered, and an extra big congratulations to ST for his stunning upset victory. Even I wasn't aware he'd entered until well over a month after entries had ended.

Who is "simple tactician"? There is no user on this forum with that name.

It's Admin 🙂 Don't you remember when they used "simple tactician" as their display name for 10 years straight? And were even mentioned in this thread's opening post?

Yes, I know that was a user's former name. But they no longer go by that name, so it no longer exists. Unless you're implying that Brandon has time travelled from the past to win this competition. Also, see fefanfic.proboards.com/post/16692/thread

In fact, I am implying Brandon time traveled from the past to win this competition. Because he's always time traveling toward the future, and he won this competition!

Wow, this has been absolutely thrilling. Given Daryl's decision, the final rankings would be as follows: 1st. simple tactician's invisible story, the 70 pages he didn't write of the first in his new series of statement pieces, "Glorietta and the Slutty Popcorn Machine" 2nd. Yuri Playhouse Episode 1 by Hauskaz tied with Yuri Playhouse Episode 2 by Hauskaz 3rd. Putrid - Chapter 1 by matt 4th. Daryl Sucks by Bitchy Grammar Queen However, I am not entirely sure Daryl's selection adheres to the official 7th ToM Writing Competition rules, which clearly state: What does the rest of ToM think? Do we accept Daryl's decision, or do we implement a new tie-breaking strategy?

Cetasaurus's obvservation certainly destroys the legitimacy of these results. I say we cancel the whole competition and start a new one.

CONTEST FRAUD

Post by Daryl on Nov 9, 2021 5:02:58 GMT -5
If we're going to question what counts as a legitimate story... How about when Hauskaz said one of their Yuri Playhouse episodes was for this tournament, while another was for the 6th, but both ended up here? Or how about in Putrid where Matt was asked whether they were entering the 6th or 7th tournament, and never replied?
All I know is that when I told Brandon he was being penalized for failing to submit his mandatory entry, he was shocked and appalled, and told me all about this entry he didn't spend hours writing, as a statement piece. Who are we to say his entry is invalid just because it doesn't technically exist?

I think it's clear now that the only proper entry was mine. I should therefore be declared the winner.

I'd like to point out that, despite not existing, Brandon's story was by far the most provocative entry in this tournament - the mark of true genius. To not grant him the victory is, frankly, an affront to art itself.

I'll take your silence as indecisiveness, and offer: Real art takes courage. You know which entry to this tournament really deserves the win - are you brave enough to pick it?

I think Cetasaurus is working with Suspense again to set up another killing spree.

Ok everyone. I have made another poll, but this time it will close after just 1 week. It features: - Yuris Playhouse, Chapters 1 and 2, which were the original finalists.
- Daryl Stinks, the only proper entry.
- simple tactician's invisible story, which our official tie-breaker, Daryl, decided should win despite this story not being originally listed among the qualifying entries.

Thank you for appreciating my invisible art. I really might have worked very hard on it. It is an honor.

Trust me, the honor was ours. Not reading that story was the best part of this tournament.
