In this part of the forest, the sun was blocked out by the trees, which had grown tall and thick, away from human eyes. A small bit of light allowed for people to see, but one area in particular was brightened by a circle of light in the air. The circle was filled with strange, dark blue symbols that moved lazily in the sky, as if guided by some unknown hand that was as bored as the person sitting below the symbol was.
He seemed more like a student than someone to fear. He had shirt black hair, and a bit of a smile as he read from a book he held in his hands. He wore a simple tunic and pants that cut off at the knee, along with a very long open robe. He didn't seem to be the type of person to care about what he wore.
However, he did care about preparing for the battle he had asked for. One could notice he had small claws, and there was a rapier at his side, along it didn't seem as if it was used much.
Was he... really going to fight?

"Sure is dark out here...heheheh. Wonderful."
Kiara Hadley, clad neck down in dark blue, strode through the shade and the brush. She was here to fight. Time was abound and employers were hard to come by in the peaceful months. Practice was one thing, but there's no substitute for real life experience.
Further she walked til she discovered her adversary. He didn't look like he belonged in this area of the forest, let alone fight here. Regardless, he issued the fight. Saying nothing, she stood in the open, making herself known.

Mark continued to read, seemingly ignoring Kiara. He was smiling to himself, as if the book he was reading was quite good, and that he was at a good part. He did manage to stand up, eyes still on the pages, but he wasn't really paying much attention to Kiara at the moment. It actually took him a moment, and a flip of the page, until he closed his book and looked up at her. His first reaction wasn't exactly a good one, as he didn't seem too impressed.
"Oh, hello there," he began, nodding slightly to her. "Are you really the person I'm to fight?"

"I could ask you the same thing, sweetheart. You seem like you'd prefer to get into bed with that book." Kiara took one of the larger daggers on her side sheath from in her hand and spun it casually. "If you'd rather do this later, I can sit here and think of different ways to kill you while you finish your little book."

"Oh, no no, I've read that book loads of times, I should be good," Mark muttered, putting it down on a tree root before unsheathing his rapier. It seemed old, as if it had been passed down, but the blade was still quite sharp, and it looked well cared for. Mark also decided it was best, for this battle, to take off his robe and throw it beside his book. He didn't want to get tripped up while trying to dodge a blade.
"However, I don't think you understood my battle request. This is no fight to the death."
