Following such interesting stories for contests in the past...

It's time to add a 4th title to the list.
Welcome to the 4th Semi-Annual Tales of Mystery Writing Contest.
To enter, simply declare your intent on entry in this board. You will have been officially entered into the contest upon posting your first Chapter of your story. You may go back and edit your Active Chapter up until the writing phase ends and the voting phase begins.
You are allowed 1 week for writing, and 3 days for voting.
Your story must contain typed letters, and not just a single troll-photo.
Your story has to be a minimum of one sentence long for each chapter.
At the end of the voting phase, if there is a tie, then all those writers are "marked". If any marked writer ends the voting phase in another tie, then they are eliminated.
Tardiness is not always well received, and often ends in elimination, though it is possible to enter a story late and receive punishment of being marked.
Your story cannot be prewritten. The point of this challenge is to test to see who is the most adept and versatile writer. This challenge forces you to write in a style you normally wouldn't.
If you're caught stealing your writing from another source, you'll either be reprimanded, or immediately booted.
This time around, no links or videos. It's just cheap.
ANYWAYS!
This time around, along with the Chapter Theme, we're including a Chapter Rule!
How the theme works:
During the voting phase, everyone chooses a single word to be entered into a raffle to become the theme of the Chapter. That theme has to appear in everyone's chapter at least once.
With the addition of the chapter rule, during the voting phase, people will enter their proposed theme and a rule for the next chapters to follow.
The Chapter Rule applies exclusively to the writing competition. Nobody can make rules apply outside. No exceptions.
For example, say the writing phase ended, and the voting phase began, Person 1 would go to the board and say "My theme I pick is: Butter, and my chapter rule is: Nobody can use the word 'The'!"
The theme would randomly be chosen, then the rule would randomly be chosen.
If someone does not apply the theme and/or Chapter Rule to their story, they will be eliminated.
I suck at explanations, so if anyone has questions...
