How I'm seen is irrelevant. How I actually am is relevant. And I've been acting, since the time the fights were assigned at least, in what I view as perfectly reasonable ways. Yes, I really think letting an enemy choose weapons after the fight has already been assigned is not a fair situation. Yes, I really thought thrusting meant the same thing as throwing. And yes, I really think I've been being picked on for no better reason than how others perceive me since the moment this whole thing started. And it's true that if I'd been assigned to anyone other than unarmed Adnik, I'd probably have simply showed up and been set on fire by a spell and died or something.
Kinda was perfectly clear in her post with regards to the thrusting, it was my misunderstanding of the word that lead to the following post. And I find the part about running nontrivial, as the time it takes to run ten feet is certainly enough time to start reacting to her act of running.
I also don't see how a different name would have helped, unless people are projecting their hate of the character Daryl to me, which I've so far seen little evidence of.
I don't see how a four day training session in the middle of a battle is fair either, though since I don't imagine Kinda would object to the idea, I deny because I feel as if textual tips and a question/answer session would be just as helpful as hands on training, and prefer that idea greatly.

Daryl, you're seen as irrelevant because of your initial lack of dedication, and your admittance now that you're dedicated is all the weirder. We don't validate your actual concerns because of the way you presented yourself, both then and now. Are you being picked on? To a fault. Do you deserve some of it? If it proves our dedication and how insulted we are that you joined with a flashlight, then yes. It is necessary. Also note, this is not an angry rant, so please don't interpret it that way.
And in your basic role play, most people will say they run to you, which is why it's implied. It is your job to reply with your reactions. If Kinda runs over to you and thrusts, you can make your moves in the time that she's running.
And a different name goes back to the respect issue.
And the four day training session is no longer recommended. It's mandatory. The level of skill you're at to the one Kinda is at is far too large a gap to go on like this, with an argument every single time you post. If we want this round to end, you need training. In-fight tips won't give you the kind of experience you need, and this will be a good way for you to practice character building and showing your dedication.

I'm not seen as irrelevant, I'm seen as a nuisance. Irrelevance is ignored.
I stopped seeing your posts as angry rants with your last post before the one above this post, which seemed calm enough, though all your posts before that were certainly seen as angry rants. To invalidate concerns for anything other than the validity of the concerns is a fault and an affront to fairness, and there are ways to express dedication and insult other than through the picking on of another. That is, especially when the arguments are personal, never a fair strategy.
Even so, what if instead of preparing my attack I decide to run to the right (Something very likely for this match)? Then by the time she'd be at my position and thrusting, she'd be thrusting into nothing but air, something that she clearly wouldn't do were this a visual rather than textual match.
I do not see how incarnating yourself into a virtual world is an insult.
If the level of skill I am at is too far behind the level of skill Kinda is at, then the solution most in your line of interest would seem to be just letting the fight continue, and letting me be killed rapidly. Moreso, I was not referring to tips on this forum, but rather through a significantly more private medium.

If you continue this, you'll be irrelevant, because I'll remove you for convenience. So yeah, to a fault, you are irrelevant.
You joined with a flashlight. 'nuff said.
There's a certain level of realism that cannot be brought into the page, no matter how much you like. You could've EASILY dodged, saying that you watched her and had perfect opportunity. There are limits to realism.
So you don't think Daryl with a flashlight is an insult in comparison to other people who take this form of writing as an art? You entering and fighting as yourself is making people angry. Really angry. If you can't see that, then you're blind.
And your inexperience doesn't make you weak, it makes you difficult and inconvenient. We'll have to correct every other post of yours. The most common error with tournaments is being unfairly strong and not knowing how to fight properly. I'm offering you training, not to irritate you, but to give you the experience that you claim to desire. I won't allow this fight to continue if this is going to occur every other line.

I'll continue as long as I feel it is necessary.
I said in my post before the last that I'd been acting in an appropriate manner "since the fights were assigned". I said that for a reason. Your statement also addresses 0 of the concerns voiced in the corresponding paragraph to my previous post.
Saying that I'm not even in the spot when she's already thrust and informing her she just thrust into the wall even though I've been clear of the spot for several seconds feels like godmodding. Call it a rookie's error.
See paragraph 2.
The inexperience doesn't make me difficult and inconvenient, your own attitudes toward me does. Think: What started this? Was it a misunderstanding of how roleplaying works? No, it was an issue having absolutely nothing to do with my understanding of roleplaying rules, but rather relating to my understanding of a word. You say you'd have to correct every other post of mine. I've seen no evidence to support that. To date, the only post that's required correction could have been done with a simple "Daryl, 'thrust' doesn't mean what you think it means".

As soon as Daryl saw Adnik running toward him, he darted off to his left. Once he was out of her direct path, he swung his pole around, aiming for her back, while remaining in constant motion trying to avoid any future path of her rod.

When Daryl moved away before she reached him, Adnik immediately ducked, barely avoiding his pole. Being close to him, she immediately swung her rod at his feet, attempting to make him trip.

Adnik's poles hit Daryl in the back of his shin, though he did not trip, instead leaping in front of himself on his right foot while cradling his left ankle.
Daryl looked at Adnik with a look of remorse, then proceeded to run as fast as he could in the opposite direction.

Seeing Daryl running away, Adnik simply got up, and let out a long sigh. She stayed in place, arms crossed, watching him run in the opposite direction while she didn't move. This fight was exasperating her, and she couldn't wait until it's done.

Daryl, noticing that Adnik was no longer chasing him, stopped, and turned to face her.
He threw his rod as far as he could (About 10 feet) to his right, and got down on his knees.
"Adnik, I have no idea what I'm doing here. I'm clearly not fit to fight. I lack strength, strategy, and courage. Entering myself into this tournament was a mistake, and so was letting this go on as far as it has. I'm sorry. "
Daryl stayed on his knees staring at the ground, waiting for Adnik's judgement.

"At least you admit it", Adnik simply responded, happy that things were finally going somewhere, and that this pointless battle was done, "I won't do anything to you, since you surrendered on your own. I guess that means the fight's over."

Daryl ran up to Adnik and locked himself into a hug around her waist.

Adnik cringed as Daryl gave her a hug, not expecting this from him at all.
"Um... you, uh, can let go now, you know..." she mumbled, placing her hands on his shoulders and giving him a very light push, so he'd let go, "you don't need to thank me or anything..."

The announcer and audience seemed disappointed. A strange woman from the audience began crying at the sight of two unbeaten survivors.
"Well, this battle ends by surrender. So... Well, good job both of you." screamed the announcer, in a soft and hushed, somewhat sexual tone.

Daryl went straight home and made a pro-Adnik sign to bring to all the future battles involving her.

OOC: With Adnik as the winner, she gets to edit her spells and weapons for her entry into round 2. Must be finished before that round begins.
