Alright, I'm getting bored at the hospital, and for me, being bored is a very bad thing. So, I've decided to do a playthrough of Fire Emblem, mainly a Lyn/Hector mode play. But, I need seven characters (aside from the lords) to train.
So, put your suggestions here! I won't level up pre-promotes, but everyone else is free game.

My vote:
Sain (Lances)
Matthew
Rebecca
Serra (Light)
Nino (Anima)
Florina (or one of the other whores)
Canas
There's a team that (most) can be built up early-ish.
(Assuming they all promote) You get a balance of
6 Swords
3 Lances
2 Axes
2 Bows
1 Light
1 Anima
1 Dark
3 Healing
In addition, you get
2 Horse units.
1 FLYING horse.
1 Thief.
1 Healer (and 2 potential healers)
Personally, I hate flying horse units, but it's part of a balanced breakfast.
