OOC: Brandon (ST) is the only one invited to this RP.
On a lower part of the mountain, where some mountainous animals still lurked and an occasional traveler would pass, there was a flat platform of sorts, which seemed much more man-made than natural. The reason for this was illuminated quickly, as there was an anchor there, a thick rope attaching it to what some people would believe to be impossible: a floating ship. The ship did not seem to be lifted into the air my machinery; instead strange blue symbols were decorated on the bottom of the large vessel.
The colour of the sails showed what kind of ship it was, as instead of having the plain white sails of most commercial ships, it had black sails, with a white skull and crossbones that was capped with a dark orange hat, with a long feather on said hat. It was the Sancta Cruz, a ship well known for not following the norms of piracy. Instead of stealing from every single ship, they only attacked the most dangerous of commercials and military ships, and took just enough to get by.
However, most of the crew had gone down the mountain and was in the city, buying supplies or spending the night having fun on the town. Only one person had stayed with the ship, and that was the captain himself, Za'Ke. He didn't leave the ship alone, or even with another person. It was his ship, and he had to take care of her.
Za'Ke was a very strange looking man. His hair was orange, but a deep enough shade to not look ridiculous. He wore a black hat with a purple feather stuck in it on the top if his head, along with a simple black shirt and blue jeans that showed their age. he had a deep tan, partly from his heritage, and partly because he was in the sun most days.
He was actually sitting right beside the anchor, resting his back on it as he ate a BLT which his co-captain had been nice enough to bring back to him, along with a soft drink and a piece of apple pie, things which were rare for him to have. It was going to be a long night alone, so having a treat would be great for him.
"I wonder if Jay will come back soon... nah."

From off of a steep cliff and onto the flat surface jumped a beautiful young woman. She wore incredibly long hair down to the backs of her knees, all tied up in a brown bow. Her face was an odd olive shade, that neither suggested that she was tan or pale. She dressed herself in what appeared to be light clothes that could breathe well in combat. Her face was sternly set on the strange man that she had never met.
Before speaking, she raised her arm and pointed a massive sword - in both length, width, and thickness - at the male figure lounging before her. "You. I saw you traveling many many miles back. If you are with this ship, I would like to meet the captain, I have questions for them."

Za'Ke hadn't even finished half of his sandwich, but he got up to greet the woman in front of him, who had just leapt onto their mooring point. While it wasn't rare for people to come up to this point, it wasn't common, especially not for women. Also, women didn't usually decide to go to pirate ships asking to see the captain. It was odd, yet Za'Ke was very interested.
"Hey hey, don't be pointing your sword at me, ma'am," he chuckled, a soft smile on his face. "I'd be the captain you're looking for. I don't understand why you'd have questions for me, but since you and I are here, you might as well ask them."

...don't be pointing your sword at me...
I shouldn't call him on his sentence structure, he's probably just trying to be interesting, or some trivial thing like that.
"Thank you for your time, this really should be quick. First, please don't address me as ma'am. I've never been a fan of feminine formalities. My name is Zofia."
"And... I've been tracking you because I want to learn how you designed this ship to fly. Who was the originator of this... this... technology? Magic? Please, if you'd be so kind."

"Well, Zofia, I'd love to help you, I really would, but this design is sort of a trade secret. I can't be telling every single person who asks how this ship flies the reason. You'll just have to go elsewhere and ask someone else with a flying ship. I mean, I'm sure there are lots more flying ships."
In reality, he was able to tell everyone he wanted the "secret" behind the ship's flight, which really wasn't a secret. However, he didn't like when random people came up to him and asked him how it flew, so he just simply stopped telling people. It was really a matter of trying to get people off his back.
"If you have any more questions, go for it, but if not, I'm going to continue to eat my sandwich."

Zofia slammed her sword down into the rocks below, wedging it there. She looked at him momentarily, first seriously, then much more sweetly. "It is very important that I discover the secret of this ship. I would gladly serve on your ship for a year, or you could use me to whatever sick sexual desires you have, but in three years time, I need the secret to this ship's flight. What can I do to get it from you? What do you need of me?" The desperation in her voice was an unusual one. Zofia was at this point, humbled by her own words, sick at the thought of her begging to another human being, a human she didn't know, and a man.

Za'Ke was completely stunned. Why this woman was offering her time and her body up, just for the secret of how to make a ship fly, was beyond him. However, the ship did need a few more hands, and she looked as if she could hold her own. But, doing that to a woman who looked as if she was so in need to find out one small thing...
"Hey, I am not a sexual deviant, thanks, and I don't need you to be helping me with sexual desires! Sheesh. Just because I'm a pirate captain doesn't mean I'm a complete asshole. But listen. We do need some more people on board. But it's dangerous. Are you SURE you want to do something like this?"

"I need to make a ship of my own... I will serve you for one year, and at the end of that year, you'll be repaid by both my work, and by a piece of information that you should value. Am I worthy of your serving you?"

"I really don't know. I'm not going to lie, you have the attitude to blend in along just fine with everyone else, but I have no idea if you can fight or not. That sword could be just a way to threaten people, and you could really be shit with it. As a captain, I have to make sure that new recruits don't fuck up."
He was actually smiling again. "Listen, here's the deal. I want to finish supper. You're more than welcome to some of my apple pie or half of my sandwich. When I'm done, we'll spar a bit, and I'll see if you're good enough to join the crew."

Zofia smirked a bit. I haven't sparred in years... I haven't had the need to... This should be quick...
"The next time I eat with you will be as a crewmate, not as a guest. Finish your food, and we can fight at your desire. But don't be surprised if you lose a limb. I haven't had to restrain myself in a good many years."

Great, now she's threatening me AND belittling the fact that I'm only a pirate. Don't be surprised if you lose a limb, she says! Maybe I have to restrain myself... okay, I think everyone knows that I don't, but I'll show her.
"You know what, food can wait," he chuckled, picking up his food and putting it back in a container that Jay had used to deliver it to his captain (mainly by dropping it on a fly-by, aiming for his head). "I'll be back in a minute, and we'll fight. Besides, if you cut off one of my limbs, I may throw up, and that wouldn't be pretty or healthy. And it'd be a total waste."
With that, he grabbed onto the rope and tugged. There had been something attached to the rope at the very top, and yanking on the rope caused it to careen down towards Za'Ke. It was a clip, which was attached to a sheathed sword. It was a fairly long sword that Za'Ke needed both hands to pick up and unsheath, showing off its curved edge. It was a sword known as a Kriegmesser, and he seemed to be skilled in its use.

"Heavens forbid we waste your dinner. I'll tell you what, I'll both prove my worth, and defeat you - exclusively with the dull end of my sword. That should prevent any decapitation, though might lead to severe bruising. Would you lose your lunch at the sight of an ugly bruise?"
I need to shut my mouth. Why am I taunting him?! I need to shut my mouth. Shutting up, shutting up, and... okay. No more taunting. Not until I can get my secrets and be on my way.
Zofia pulled her sword from the wedge in the stone. The blade looked angry, gleaming in the sun and reflecting off of the sharpness in the rocks below her. Raising this massive 5' long blade, pointing it at Za'ke, Zofia worded her next sentence very carefully and respectably, "On your move."

"For a lady, you certainly come across with some pretty crass lines from that mouth of yours," Za'Ke taunted right back. "Remember, I'm the one allowing you onto my crew here, so you can find out the secret of how we make the boat float. I can easily just tell you to forget it and leave you here. Besides, if you decide to only use the blunt end of your sword on me, I will take it from your hands and smash your skull with it."
Za'Ke was actually showing anger now. He was an easy man to get along with, but he didn't take kindly to getting insulted on a constant basis.
"My move? No no. Your move."

"I'm crass because I'm urgent. Pay my tongue no mind. And from the bottom of my heart, I don't want to have to turn my blade onto you...
Even though you couldn't just told me, and let me be on my way...
"...because you've made a generous offer to give me knowledge that would make me very happy. I would be crushed in knowing that I damaged generous hands."
...It's been so long since I've had to be a socially acceptable female... it seems that I've forgotten how to do it...
"My move? I won't hold back, brace yourself."
Okay, make sure to restrain yourself, Zofia. This is a sparring match. You can fight him with a solid 25% of your maximum, and still prove your skills.
Zofia steadied her legs, holding her mammoth sword with her right hand, and laying her open left palm onto the thick side of it. She looked at the man with soft eyes, and as she spoke, she spoke in a voice that was abnormally serene for the situation at hand. "I'm sorry, I haven't heard your name yet."

"Oh, so now you're actually concerned with pleasantries and knowing my name, when before you acting... well, I must admit, like a cocky little child?" Za'Ke chuckled, his arms crossed with his own sword in his left hand, pointed at the ground. "Well, my name is Za'Ke. I already know yours, so I guess there's no more point in talking right now. We might as well continue this fight. Again, I'll let you take the first move."
He even tipped off his hat to her, a smile on his face as he stood in what looked like a very sloppy defensive position. Was he stupid, or just really not that good at using his own sword?

Cocky little child? Don't yell... don't yell... Say something pleasant... You're here to gather information.
"I am happy to be in your company, sir, and may this fight end pleasantly!"
...Ugh. Now this is the part where I hold back my attack.
Zofia didn't charge at him, she seemed to slowly gallop. Awkwardly. Any beauty or elegance she might have portrayed was null and void, as she "charged" at him, looking like she had a brick wedged in her genital region.
Stopping in front of him, she spun the dull end of her blade towards his own steel. Again, very slowly, especially for a fighter of her breeding and experience.

Za'Ke watched... and waited... and continued to wait some more as Zofia approached, her pace so slow that he was wondering if she had some issues with her leg, or something to that effect. He knew that she was holding back, and not even in a reasonable sort of way. She was remarkably rude for wanting to find out how his ship flew, but now he was more interested in showing her why he was a pirate captain in the first place.
"This isn't going to end pleasantly unless you start actually acting like you want to fight!"
With that, Za'Ke moved smoothly from his sloppy position to a much more natural position, easily parrying Zofia's blade with his own. However, he was not going to let her off with just that, so as their blades scrapped against each other, he raised his leg to give her a hard kick on the left knee.

Remain serene, but kick his ass.
Zofia took the attack, knowing there was a plethora of other moves she could've made, however, if she lost control, she'd lose her information.
Jumping back on her right leg, Zofia realized that he wasn't impressed by her.
Still making sure to restrain herself, she darted backwards, and turned sharply back. Charging again, she tried to follow him movements, and swing at his side with a sharp horizontal jab from the dull size of her great steel blade.

Za'Ke wasn't going to allow her a hit so easily, so again he went to move his blade in the way, their blades meeting in another crash. However, this time he went to post against her blade, using a fair deal of strength against her. It wasn't all the strength he could muster, but he wanted to test her.
She's not too bad, actually. She's a pain in the ass, but what member of the crew isn't? She might actually be worth keeping around, in the end. Hopefully she doesn't get angry and try to cut something off. I can't explain that to Jay.

Darting back, trying to both display her quick feet and her thoughtfulness, Zofia assessed the situation quickly. He was phenomenally strong to be able to block any attack of hers. With that in mind, she didn't see further point in disrespecting him.
"I'm very sorry. Allow me to redeem myself. My full name is Zofia Isabelle Curado. I've trained under my father Ferdinand Curado, a master swordsman. Forgive my harsh tongue earlier, as I'm not one to be humbled. When you would have me as a crewmate, I'll cease fighting, but until that point, shall we enjoy ourselves?"
Gripping her sword, she breathed in the distance from her to him. Without caution, she dangled the large blade in front of her body, gesturing for him to attack.

"Well, I'm glad you changed your tune quickly," Za'Ke chuckled, not moving forward to attack her, or at least, not right away. "I already introduced myself, but I might as well give myself a better introduction like you did. I've been the captain of this ship for about three years now, and my training is a secret from everyone. Sorry, I can't mention that much to you right now. And, I'll say you can join when the fight is over."
She's obviously trying to lure me in. Well, I'm too lazy to go into a trap.
True to his thoughts, he didn't move at all, instead deciding to take a small cloth out of his pocket, wipe his sword clean, and wait. However, his sword seemed to shine with a different colour after he wiped it down. What had he done?

Oh ho ho ho ho... No. I'm not gonna do the attacking this time, buddy. You can come to me.
Zofia stood her ground, and blew two stray hairs from her brow. She looked at her opponent, and eyed him down. She was not moving from her spot.
"It's rude to make a woman do all the running. I want to see you attack for a change."
I hope strikes to the groin are fair... Because I really want to strike your groin.

I really hope she doesn't kick me...
"Oh, you do, eh?" Za'Ke wondered aloud, stepping towards her casually, with a very kind smile on his face. "You know, I'm usually on the attack, but I guess in this case I'm a bit confused. You aren't someone I'm out to kill, and you're not a crew mate, at least not yet. So I was just trying to figure out before I attacked. But, you know what? Fuck it."
He decided to stop caring at that point, and ran full charge towards Zofia, spinning his sword with intent to slice at a shoulder.

He's running pretty quick, but his precision is off... I wonder how durable he is...
Pointing her swording elbow inward and waiting until he was closer, she ran full speed at him, colliding their blades mid-run. However...
Zofia realized she had gained colossal momentum from her running...
With both of their sword arms out, for a split second, Zofia and Za'Ke were face-to-face.
As the momentum pressed them together (In slow motion, of course) the blood flowed vividly where they touched... because they had collided at a combined total speed of about 20 kilometers per hour from both of their directions, making their crash rather painful.

Za'Ke wasn't even prepared for a crash of that speed, and it sent him flying back, tumbling head over heels until he landed on his back with a smirk on his face, laughing rather loudly instead of crying out in pain. He stood up rather quickly, blood running down his now-red forehead, and his sword a tad dusty from knocking against the ground. He laughed for a little longer, before finally taking a deep breath and smiling at Zofia.
"That was fun," he admitted. "I'm going to have a headache worse than a hangover later, but let's continue, eh?"

Smacking into the man and bouncing off of his body in the opposite direction, Zofia got up. She had never done that before. Her oversized bow had fallen out and her hair flailed in the breeze and she stood up.
Shaking her head, trying to phase off the pain from her face, the blood dripping over her forehead, and her many stray hairs, she leaned in again and made a charge. Darting back and forth, she hesitantly thrust her sword towards his own sword, as to avoid harming him.
Am I actively trying not to harm someone? Weird. That's not like me at all.
