So... it's been a while...
Who wants to commit to a good ol' Mafia game?

We can play with...
Some Mafia.
Detective...
Angel...
And maybe even the Florist Assistant...

Whoever doesn't know the rules... uhm... someone else with plenty of time can explain it.

EDIT: Okay, I really want to play, so I'm putting the rules up here.

Basically, Mafia is a 2 part game, the night phase, and the day phase.

At night, the players chosen as mafia discuss who they want to kill, and everyone with special roles choose who they want to (save, investigate, etc.)

When everyone has decided, then it becomes day. We find out who the mafia killed, and who the other characters used their powers on.

Then, we transition into the day phase, and ALL the players (villagers) discuss who they think is the mafia, and who to kill. We all vote, (not the moderator) and kill the person with the highest number of votes. If there is a tie, then moderator will decide how to handle it. (Examples: No kill, double kill, optional revote)

Then we repeat until the mafia is dead, or there is an equal number of mafia and villagers.

ROLES

Moderator: Non-player. tells story of each death and is the one who all roles report to when they make a choice at night.

Villager: A citizen of the village who only has the power of voting.

Mafia: Antagonists of the game. All agree to kill a citizen each night.

Godfather: A member of the mafia who cannot be found by the detective.

Angel: A villager who picks a random person to protect from mafia each night.

Detective: Investigates a random villager each night.

Beyonce: Chooses a villager at night to not be voted out during the town meeting.

Silencer: Chooses a random villager at night to not speak or vote during the town meeting.

Florist: Has the power to find the Angel, Detective, Beyonce, and Silencer. In addition, knows who the Florist Assistant is.

Florist Assistant: Has the power to find the Angel and Detective. They know who the Florist is, and if the florist dies, the Assistant gains the Florist's abilities. (THE FLORIST AND ASSISTANT DO NOT TALK AT NIGHT, THEY ONLY KNOW WHO EACH OTHER ARE.)

Avenger: When this role dies, they publicly pick another character to go down with them.

Baker: Wakes up with the Toaster Spider. Has no special role beyond waking up with the Toaster Spider.

Toaster Spider: When the Baker dies, if the Toaster Spider is still alive, it no longer has food, and must feed on villagers. Can potentially kill the Mafia.


We can start a game whenever.

Why does everyone think we have to use all the rules? Mafia is super flexible. As long as we have murderers, we can pick and choose what else we want.

Dear Everyone who still looks at ToM,
Mafia can TOTALLY be played over AIM. There is actually a rather large group of players that plays a different rule-set than usual, but it's interesting. If you have free time at night and you want to play, give me your AIM name (Or get AIM) and we'll all play and have a jolly good time.

Currently, we've got several strangers from Bard College, people scattered throughout the world, and Laura, Daryl, Pyro, Singerrock, and myself. Sometimes Celia. More players never hurt, so if you wanna have a go, leave some AIM info. We'll work it out.
