The Double King bar wasn't exactly what one would consider a normal bar. For the one thing, it was tiny. Maybe twelve people could be seated down at one time, and not once had all twelve seats been filled. The only reason this business was still running was due to the fact that in the "backyard" of the building was a circular ring, filled with sand, where people could spar every once in a while.
It cost money to rent out the fighting "arena" (if you could call it that, the sand wasn't groomed properly, and while it was large enough to fight in, it just couldn't match a proper arena), but more fun came from the spectators (benches were lined up around the ring), who would bet on you and throw things if they got mad.
So far, Daniel was the only person there, laying down on the side of the ring. He hadn't fought like this for a long time, he hoped Davian was a challenge.

Davian could only raise an eyebrow at the sight of the Double King. A small, shabby institution with a sandy ring in the back. Hardly a proper place to fight, he thought. But he could make due.
He made his way around the bar to the ring in the back to see a man laying on the side of the ring. No one else was around. He figured that man must be his opponent. He tightened the straps on his mail and placed a hand on the hilt of his sword. Walking forward, he raised a hand to shield the sun from his eyes and spoke, "Hey there. I assume you're Daniel?"

Daniel didn't get up immediately. He glanced his opponent up and down, scowled a bit, and then finally sat up, unsheathing his sword while doing so. It was an eastern-style blade, a jian, with a little green tassel on the end. It might have looked pretty and light, but it seemed to hold a sharp edge... just like the owner's tongue.
"You actually assume right," Daniel retorted, a bit of sarcasm in his tone. One had to wonder if this was how he introduced himself to everyone before they decided that yes, he was like this all the time. "And you're that Davian guy, or else there's a problem here. Anyways, let's fight, unless you want to go get a drink first. I don't mind at all."

Davian instantly made a note of Daniel's sword and lack of armor. Davian's larger sword and armor made for a powerful and rather straight method of swordplay. Daniel seemed the type to be nimble and outmaneuver his opponent. Still, he felt confident in this battle.
"I'm Davian. And I'll pass on the drink."
With that, Davian pulled his sword from its sheath slowly. It cackled with energy while he did. He held it casually on his right side as he walked just off-center of the ring.

Well, the whole "trying to get him drunk" idea didn't work.
"Alright then. I'm not fond of the whole 'letting my opponent go first' thing, so how about we just start fighting when we feel like it and work our way from there? Oh, and by the way, just be careful of the people who will come watch the fight will occasionally throw beer cans and bottles at you. I got a branch thrown at me once too, but that's beside the point."
Daniel was eying Davian a bit more closely, now that he saw this sword crackling with energy. He didn't like the looks of it. It was probably enhanced with magic, and Daniel... was never good with magic. He didn't use any, and the only magic he had on his weapons was a "don't break" spell.
This was going to be fun.

"As you wish."
Davian could tell Daniel wasn't at all pleased by the energy his sword gave off. It was always an unpleasant surprise in battle.
He shifted his body into a ready stance, both hands on his sword, facing forward. He then began the battle like he did every battle; Davian flourished his sword in a circle above his head causing the static energy to cackle loudly and let the enemy know there was defiantly something up with his sword. Davian resumed his ready stance for Daniel's initiative.

Davian resumed his ready stance for Daniel's initiative. Daniel was definitely not pleased about the sword now, since it was giving off static energy that was going to make him look like a giant fur-ball soon if it didn't stop. When it did, he just looked at the sword stupidly for a moment. Maybe if he could knock it away from Davian... cut off his hand or something. Maiming people is bad. I shouldn't. the guy whose face I broke is still after me.So, Daniel charged forward, thinking that maybe startling the guy would do some good. He'd just have to see.

A small smile crossed Davian's face at Daniel's attack. He turned his sword down and right, easily catching Daniel's blade against his own. He then pushed forward and crossed his sword to the left, aiming a horizontal strike at Daniel's waist.

Daniel was going to try and push his blade down on Davian's, but as the slash came, he jumped back just a tad, trying to avoid it. The point of Davian's blade caught against his shirt, tearing part of it and cutting some of the skin across his stomach. He winced a little, but he had been hurt worse.
To retaliate, Daniel did something he didn't usually do, but in the case of his armoured foe here, he would do something that would be cruel, unusual, and probably quite funny... at least to Daniel. With the flat part of his blade... he tried to smack Davian across the head.

Davian followed Daniel's movements closely. As his sword made its way for Davian's head, he realized he was in no position to parry as he was recovering from his last attack. Instead, he dropped on his left knee to avoid the blow.
He countered with a low, arcing strike to Daniel's right calf. This time, the static energy could be heard.

Daniel was able to get in and parry Davian's attempt to strike at his calf and make him unable to walk any further. However... he didn't notice the static around the blade until his own blade struck against it, sending jolts of electricity up the sword and into his body. He nearly dropped his blade as he stepped back, trying to avoid another shock.
Sheathing his blade for a moment, he glanced at his hands. They were burnt. It would be hard for him to hold his sword now, and he would be much slower than he normally was. He had three options from that point: to continue to try and use his sword in a sloppy fashion, to use what knowledge he had of hand-to-hand fighting and work his way from there, or to give up.
I'm not giving up right now... and using my sword like a dumb-ass won't work. Guess I just have to go with unarmed combat for now. Joy.
Daniel couldn't do much but stand there and wait for Davian to make the next move.

Davian stood and again resumed his stance. He noticed the burns on Daniel's hands identical to those he'd recieve time and time again during training. A smart man would have given up, but Daniel's unarmed stance told Davian the prior wouldn't happen. Still in stance, he spoke, "I won't kill you. That's stupid. Surrender, or I will hurt you." His sword cackled loudly in response to his words.

"I don't surrender."
Those simple words would continue the fight for a lot longer than Davian had probably anticpated. Daniel was the type of person who was too stubborn to give up, and getting him to surrender either meant killing him or knocking him out. And since Davian didn't want to kill him, he would have to knock him on the skull a few times.
Yet, Daniel wasn't attacking. Instead, he was glancing all over Davian's armour, trying to find any weak points to places without armour. He didn't enjoy going against people with armour at all.

Davian just sighed. "Very well."
The cackling of his sword intensified again. With a quick jerk of his arms, Davian swung the electrified flat of his sword at Daniel's torso. This quick, concentrated burst would be enough paralyze Daniel for a few minutes and completely numb his body afterward.

Thankfully, Daniel knew to avoid swords that were flying at him and that were humming with electricity. He tried to do something that would have looked like he were playing limbo, but he wound up falling on his back trying to avoid the sword. At least he wasn't going to be paralyzed for a few minutes.
From his place on the ground, Daniel aimed a kick at Davian's kneecap. At the very least, he would bring down Davian for a minute and be able to get another hit in, possibily a boot to the head.

Davian growled with pain as Daniel's foot slammed into his knee. He stumbled sideways from reflex, but planting his sword in the ground as a support saved him from falling. He recovered, drew his sword from the dirt, and stood out of kicking distance from Daniel.
"Well, it was a nice try."
This time, Davian held a hand out toward Daniel. A small ball of lightning began to collect at his palm.
"This should keep you down."

"I'm not some sort of dog or cat for you to put down," Daniel grumbled, standing up and brushing off the sand. Some of the sand was sticking to his clothes, due to the fact that parts of the sand were damp with beer or some other alcoholic beverage. "And hey, if you liked that, then you'll love this!"
No one could say that Daniel didn't have courage, as he ran straight at Davian. However, part of the courage came from the fact that, as he stood up, he had retracted claws that came out where fingernails should have been. He rushed at Davian, and tried to slash at the hand that was charging electrical energy, going to avoid the orb itself. He wanted to try and knock off his concentration, not get electrocuted.

"What the hell?!"
The surprise of the claws completely threw Davian off guard. He staggered backward to avoid the slash, but his lightning attack flew far off target, slamming into the stands nearby, setting them ablaze.
He couldn't fully regain his composure or else Daniel would attack again. Davian swung his sword down in a powerful arc, aiming for Daniel's shoulder.

A man from the bar, obviously the bartender by the way he dressed and the bottle of liquor in his hand, ran out as soon as the smoke from the battle grew too intense and began to stink up the inside of the bar. He tried to ease the fire using the bottle of liquid in his hand, but the alcohol content only aided the flames further. He ran in once again and came out with a fire extinguisher, using it to stop the flames once and for all.
"Hey, you mother f--kers!" the man yelled at Davian and Daniel, as Daniel barely managed to roll and avoid the sword swing, stepping away so that he was out of range of Davian's sword. "Can you keep from destroying the stands, thank you very much?! Next thing that gets damanged costs the person who does it double!"
Daniel glanced at Davian and smirked a little. "You might want to be more careful."

"Well, the claws kind of threw me off. What are you anyway?" Davian said recovering from his attack. He repositioned himself, standing sideways, facing Daniel with his sword arm out.
In his other hand, dangling near his thigh, he slowly charged a lightning attack.

Daniel was backing away slowly from this guy, as he didn't trust him worth his life. He had the bad feeling that if he stood too close to Davian, he would end up in a hospital bed, paralyzed from the waist down because he got punched by him... or something. At the very least, he wasn't using his sword anymore, so Davian couldn't use it to shock Daniel from long distance... so he hoped.
"Eh, a half-demon," Daniel grumbled. "I usually don't show off my claws, but since I can't use my sword or my dagger, they'll have to do. Why, you don't want to fight someone not completely human?"

Davian laughed heartily. "I never turn down a fight. You just took me by surprise is all. Don't see many half-demons around."
Davian tried to channel his lightning quietly, but as it reached a usable level, a faint cackle of static rang out right as he finished talking.
"Now or never..."
He swung his other hand out, releasing a mediocre lightning bolt at his foe. He then in rushed in with his sword, aiming a horizontal slice at Daniel's waist.
