I personally think it's a bad idea.
But if we do start one we need to limit chars to 1. The reason the tourney took so long was it was there were too many chars.

(for some reason it says 15, but count them) I count 12 potential people who would join. But let's say only half of them join. If people have like about 2 chars, that's already 12 chars total. It'll take about four rounds. Total number of chars 12 6 3 1 But that's still a lot of battles. 6 3 2? 1 That's more or less 12 battles. It even takes us a long time to get through 1 battle. Limit on one character. And also, set up at least two battles at a time. Assuming the RPer isn't battling twice. |

Also take into consideration that we dropped dead weight. GE isn't on, and the tournaments stopped on two of her fights.

Even the battles that didn't drop dead weight still took ages.
Seriously, my input is limit the amount of chars. Trust me, if you have multiple I bet you that we won't even finish the battles by next summer.

Everytime there's a tournament, only 5 would join, now 4 since GE is no longer among us. So it's even below half. If only 3-4 people join, I don't think it's very harmful to have 2 characters, is it? |

Well when we start the tourney I would say limit to 1 char. But if only 3-4 people actually join then I guess 2 characters is okay then.
If you want I'll start up a tourney this weekend and we'll see from there.

Ice doesn't RP, Karanu hasn't been on, Tatsy doesn't like it, Wulfi and Foxxi are busy, and DoD has a life. Also, TOKAM hasn't been attending much. That leaves...

Agreed. It's definitely possible, just takes a couple more rules than your general free-form tournaments. Make an "equalizer" rule that says "Hay, everyone's the same power level!" Whether you power them up or down is up to you. And then all you honestly need to say is something like "god-characters are fun in writing, not so much in RP. Please make it so your character can actually be hurt." And that's all that's really necessary.
Honestly, though, I don't think you have to worry too much about it around here. We're all pretty well informed on the concept of god-moding, and most of us try to stay away from it whenever possible.

I'll work on it. Note that you'll have the week to prep due to Tech Week. I'll put some time in it today (last free day) and the hour or so I'm home. It'll 1v1 on the first round, then some varied stuff. Probably 2 characters per. Plan to see some stuff up today.
