It should be a very flexible RP. Unlike the other plot driven RPs, this one has a plot that more resembles real life. It will be a medieval-style RP with villians, possible wars, travel, employment, treasure hunting, possible in-RP-tournaments, and regular old battles.
It has a unique system of skill-building that makes it fair for the more active user to get their character more skills than others.
Example: Daryl's character Karen signed up, and posted once, whereas, KI's character Xavier joined and remained consistent. Since Xavier is in more posts than Karen, he'll have more opportunities to learn now spells. If KI wanted Xavier to learn a new spell, he can learn it a variety of ways:
1) Obtain a teacher. If Xavier wanted to learn a basic-level technique of another character, he can ask that character to train him in that skill. If the other person agrees, the training begins. Since it's a basic technique, it'd take 3 posts for Xavier to learn the spell. If the teacher leaves before Xavier finishes, you'd add 1 posts to how many posts Xavier would need to learn the spell.
2) Buy/Borrow/Win a spellbook. Spellbooks are easy to obtain in this world. And unlike teachers, spellbooks don't leave. Since it's not as hands-on as another person who knows the spell, it'd take 4 posts to learn a spell. If, by chance, the spellbook is stolen before completing training then the spells progress is instantly stopped. Until the spellbook is returned, it's impossible to learn the spell. Unless of course...
3) Learning spells by memory/sight. In this world, magic can be learned by sight and memory. Since your reference to the spell is very limited, it would take 5 posts to learn it. Another hindrance of this is that you probably will never be able to perfectly imitate complicated spells. And yet another burden of this method... you have to see a spell in action. And if that isn't burdenous enough... if you saw the spell too long ago, you wont be able to remember it enough to imitate it.
If you know other methods of learning spells, DO TELL! This RP is a work in progress!
Well, I know it sounds complicated, but you'll get used to it.
This new RP will not limit you to one character. In fact, it's against it! It's up to YOU the player to create the differences between good and evil. Make good characters, make evil ones, show their backstory, have battles, save dying friends and allies, overcome obstacles!
We want to make this RP a haven for all characters. We plan to implement a currency system. Did you see a spellbook in a shop that you just HAD to have? Get a job! Sweep floors in the spellbook shop for a day! Are you too lazy to wait a whole day for it? How about stealing from civilians? If you have light fingers, you could easily steal enough from civilians. Too lazy to do all that? Why not just steal the book right from the shop. If you're sure you can beat the security by the door, then go for it! If you don't believe that you can defeat that security, why not just try to be employed as night security? It makes stealing THAT much easier! So easy that you get your own key!
There will be plenty of area to explore. 2 countries to be specific. In the midst of the two countries is a large neutral city, centered perfectly between the 2 countries. It's a trade city that most of your characters will arrive in at one point or another. Whether you choose to remain there will vary between how you choose to go about living in the RP.
This is all up to YOU! Would you care to join forces with others who are evil and summon a great invincible spirit to structure your groups throne and rule the known world? Do you want to be a hired hand and fight for whatever pays more? Do you want to be a scholar and learn all that is possible to know? Do you want to be a hero and stop the evil forces from proceeding with their impure plot?
If you're interested, give a shout out! If you want something, ask! We're really hoping that you can enjoy this and take a big part in it!
If not... then I just wasted like, 2 hours typing this...
