Time is neither beginning nor end
These are just words
Time progresses, a river, flowing only forward
The spring is eternal
Time wears the ages away, all things fade
it never stops, and never will
Time exists outside of space and matter
yet governs all there is
Time builds worlds, destroys stars, and cannot end
only those who count it will fade.
Yes, not traditionally what you would call poetry, but this is one of the poems that won me acclaim in my creative writing class. The others are my "Flood of Hope" poem, and my "Severed Strings" poem.
EDIT: I just noticed that this is forum post 666, and it is a post that includes "truth" in the title.

Hm.
I don't know. For some reason I'm not liking it that much. It seems a bit too cliche, like I heard these terms before.
But I do like the last line, that I thought was good.
Just my opinion.

In truth, the poem started out as a line I copied from the Wheel of Time's trademark beginning, and expanded upon.
So...yeah. Boredom kills, and I wasn't interested in the elemental theme the teacher was trying to have us write. So....I wrote this.
