On a somewhat unrelated note, it should be "Empress's". You only add an apostrophe and no "s" for plural possessive ending with an "s". For singular possessives ending in "s", you still add the "s" to the end.

Hot and dry in the summers, freezing cold and often snowy in the winters. It's typical to get at least one string of below zero temps for a few nights during the winter. In the summer, we get the occasional monsoonal afternoon thunderstorms, but they're of the dry variety and cause fires.

I'm sick, sick, sick, sick, sick, sick, sick, SICK of hearing my mother saying how the Americans are assholes and they're all bad and all they do is bad and they're dictators and insane and stupid and immorals and all the other shit she always says.
I'm not saying Americans are angels and saviors, but she's generalizing too fucking much. Sure there are assholes there, but there are also tons and tons of assholes here, and in France, and in Egypt, and in Turkey, and in every corner of the globe. There are assholes EVERYWHERE, no matter what fucking nationality/race/sex/religion/whatever else they belong to. We're all humans and humans can be assholes, so that's why there are assholes everywhere. Just like there are good people everywhere. INCLUDING IN THE US.
And if I try to contradict her? It doesn't work. Even if I show her reason and logic, she says no. The Americans are assholes, period. She's right, I'm wrong. I'm just a naive inexperienced girl, she's an adult who's been through a lot and has seen a lot, and thus has acquired wisdom. Wisdom my ass.
Don't get me wrong, though, I do care about my mother, and despite all the arguments we always have, things are pretty fine between us. She's a nice person, so long as you don't hear her point of views concerning... well, anything.

Saturday, november 24th, late at night;
So my mother just left home to travel to France. For 3 weeks. Just told her goodbye.
So now it's just my father, sister, and I at home. Or more like, my sister and I at home, since my father will most likely not be home most of the time... I think. In any case, the house feels so empty. Not that it bothers me; it just feels odd.
But anyways... 3:11 AM now... *falls asleep on keyboard*
