Been a while, eh?
Well, that's because, for my AP Language Arts class, our teacher decided that for this week, each day we'd get an in class essay over on of the five books we read over the summer. So my 2nd period all week has been writing essays. In addition to filing out "Novel Notes" which means summerizing plot, characters, themes, motifs, symbols, important scenes, yaddi yadda. Not too hard, just takes up SO MUCH TIME.
Theatre Arts is kickin'. Love that class.
AP Bio started really slow but really kicked into overdrive yesterday and today. Caught me off guard.
Psych has all my good friends in it. So much win.
FST is...well...math.
Anyone remember my old work, Have Faith? I think a couple chapters are up here, but anyway, I'm restarting that due to I think I've had a change in style since then and I'd like to rework it. My track record is unimpressive, but I'd love to actually FINISH this.
Re-fell in love with Starcraft. And I found out Amanda played for like...a year...a while ago. SO HAWT. Want Starcraft 2 but have neither time nor money.
Must write more this year...or film stuff.
Peace, Griff

What's your work Have Faith about?

|
Post by Griffin on Aug 27, 2010 0:07:05 GMT -5
Have Faith was one of my earliest writing projects. It was loosely inspired by the movie 300, where a powerful general leads a smaller force against a larger and prevails. The difference is not nearly as great as in 300, but it'd be the general's couple thousand versus tens of thousands. 5 nations, 5 patron gods. The main general, a man named Beran, gets reassigned to menial border duty during some plotbunny stuff when an invasion hits and only he has the power to do anything. The title, Have Faith, is a reference to the gods and how they inspire Beran and his men, but also as a faith in humanity kind of thing. The men trust their general and the general trusts his men. So, yeah. I really want to expand on my original concept of it, add more, and make it both a militaristic campaign and an analysis of leadership and faith.

I just skimmed through it, and remember some part of it. It was good So yeah, you should rewrite it (or at least, continue it). Cetasaurus: you can go find it in the Writer's Corner, under Original Fiction.

If anyone didn't know of my extreme love of the band Maroon 5 and their BEAUTIFUL lead singer Adam Levine, now you do.
In related news, I GET TO SEE THEM IN CONCERT. TONIGHT. THIRD ROW CENTER. HELL YEAH.
In other news, the auditions for fall show are tomorrow. Kay, our director, wrote a contemporary version of The Scarlet Letter. Go to wiki for a synopsis if you want. But, it's rather exciting cause that's a wonderful book. It's very much an ensemble piece. Some roles are bigger than others, but not by much. The unnamed students and such play just as much of a vital role.
It should be awesome.
Oh...tournament. Do it.
Peace.

Hey ToM. Long time no...anything. <_<
Griffin's life update gogo:
Senior year. Amanda and I are still together. I wrote a play and it was preformed in school. Going to attend Bowling Green State University next year for film and theatre. Amanda is unlikely able to attend with me; money issues. Sucks. A lot. My itch to RP has yet to fade. I have so much to do for the end of the year, which is rapidly approaching (graduation is May 22nd). I miss you guys. I still love making videos. I haven't written creatively (like in story format) for a long time. I'm still listening to the same old music. I still don't have my driver's license (to be amended this summer). I still love you guys. <3

May 12
So today was my high school's Drama Club banquet where we recognize the seniors and induct Thespians and have fun and such.
I was awarded Honor Thespian, meaning I've put in over 600 hours into theatre in different outlets and that is AMAZING.
Super tired.
Peace.

As promised, two very recent videos. www.youtube.com/watch?v=th0UtD0IkdgThis video, entitled "Don't! Stop Believin'" was a spur of the moment assistance on my friends' humanities project for school. They called me in and we put this pretty little thing together. And second, www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OWZjjyAQSUThis video was filmed and edited by me, written by my school's Gay-Straight Alliance. I like. Enjoy kids. :3

My last full day of high school was today. Tomorrow is period one through four exams, then we leave. Thursday is this Senior Festival thing. Traditionally, the seniors would trash the "senior hallway" with water balloons and then balloons filled with baby oil and deer piss and last year baby powder and some people with asthma had to be taken to the hospital so...this is to deter that.
Anyway, there's a kickball tournament and my group of friends (The "Nerd Herd") played kickball all summer, so we're going to beast.
Managed to get my chapter up. Woot.
Still looking for someone to RP with.
Working on my last paper of the year, a big author study. My selected author is Arthur Miller and I love this stuff. I'm getting there. I have tonight and tomorrow night to work on it.
Take it easy, ya'll.

Wednesday, June 29 Currently listening to: Take a Bow - Muse
So I had orientation up at Bowling Green last week. I have a decision to make...
I've been told that double majoring in film and theatre would require either summer session for four years or five years of the two semester system. Which I don't have the extra money to do. So it comes down to which one I want to make my major.
I've declared myself a film major, but I'm currently leaning more toward the theatre major with the intent of being a director. The theatre major requires a specialization, mine being acting/directing if I did it. So, I'd get the directing classes and such and those skills would carry over to the film department. And if I take film classes (cause I'd be minoring in film) I still get the production skills.
MUSICAL INTERLUDE: Supermassive Black Hole - Muse
I dunno...it's a big mess to sort out. My adviser I met with on orientation day helped me work out my classes so that the classes I have picked out between film and theatre will get me in a good starting place no matter which one I choose to major in. So...I have a semester to decide.
I start August 19th.
Phew...college, amirite?

I hear you there. I had my courses planned perfectly, but since I had to take a year off, things got messed up, and I'm in the position of needing to take summer courses for probably the next two years. It's so much fun. -_-
