Because the comet didn't kill everything. It just almost did. But, many animals survived, such as much of the marine species, the currently hobbit-like mammals, many reptiles, etc. It seems many plant species were also able to survive the low-light.

Who is wiser, Kvasir or Mimir?

Kvasir is clearly the wisest of them all, for his brains are made from the saliva of a thousand gods.

Where did the name Daryl come from?
|
|
|
Post by Daryl on Nov 16, 2007 10:59:44 GMT -5
Daryl is a variant of Darryl, which is derived from the French D'Airelle, which means "of Airelle". People originally used it as their last name to brag that they were from Airelle, France, but eventually the name evolved into the vastly superior Daryl form, and it was wisely given to me.

I wouldn't call the French a "race".

Nationality?
|
|
|
Post by Daryl on Nov 16, 2007 19:45:38 GMT -5
-_-
Being named Daryl doesn't make me French any more than being named T'Pal makes you Vulcan.
And since your last post was a question, and this topic is Ask Daryl, I shall answer.
Nationality is a word used to denote the nation of origin of a certain person, or their ancestors.

What's a "square route"?

Is the path of the squares. Duh.

What is one plus two multiplied by the square route of three hundred and twenty four divided by three to the third power?
Depends where the parenthesis are. 1 + (2*(324)^.5)/27 is 19/27 in its simplest form, or about .703703703703.
1 + 2*(324/27)^.5 is 1+4sqrt(3) in its simplest form, or 7.92820.
S-D, it's directions that include circling around a block, or something. Or, squaring around a block, more like.

A meteor. And they did find the meteor. Or the crater, atleast. There's this huge crater somewhere, near Brazil I believe, and quite possibly in the ocean. Revisiting this, but the crater itself is much more likely to either be in whatever bay is next to the Yucatan Peninsula or, the much more likely scenario, the Hudson Bay, which is shown to have the bowl structure of a crater. And a damn big one at that.

Nice. The Yuctan Peninsula sounds more familiar, I wasn't exactly where I remembered hearing about it. Sorry ST.

Johnson the Hut.

No.
Laevateinn, known as the 'Staff of Destruction'. It shined brighter then the sun and granted invincibility to its wielder. Had Freyr kept it then he would not have been killed by Surt and his Sword of Revenge during Ragnarok.
Failed.

Freyr, that fool! He should have seen Surt coming!
I thought Ragnarok was a person. Or dragon or something.

Ragnarok is the downfall of the Norse Gods. An apocalyptic battle between the Aesir Gods, Einherjar, and Valkyries against the Jotuns(Frost and Fire) Demons, and evil beasts(Fenrir, Garm, Jormangundr, etc.).
Much time before Ragnarok was to occur, Freyr laid eyes upon a giantess and apparantly fell in love with her based off her appearance. But because his duty as the God of Fertility, he could not leave his throne to persue her and make her his wife. So he asked his servent, Skirnir, to travel over to Jotunheim to relay his message of love, but in order for Skirnir to agree, he would have to relinquish his sword for him to travel there.
