It wouldn't surprise me to see Link win the character contest YET AGAIN this year. He's just that awesome.

Go Link!
EDIT: Vincent only has 9.65%.
So much for having his own game.

The game evidently wasn't that great. My cousin loves it to death, so I gave it to him...but I'm not really a big fan of it.

When it comes down to this match: Solid Snake L-Block Sonic the Hedgehog Squall Leonhart
Vote for L-Block.
Tetris ftw!

It's official. Link's winning this year. He even has Cloud Strife trailing him. www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.htmlI think his only real competition this year is going to be Master Chief. EDIT: 100 posts.

Lmao.
I think L Block actually won.
But gamefaqs pulled a fast one on us. Look at it.
L-Block (Tetris) Paddle (Pong) Weighted Companion Cube (Portal) ? Block (Mario)
? Block is winning though. So much for tetris.

Since when did blocks and cubes and stuff become characters?

The L block is a very important character in Tetris.

What's the weighted companion cube?
Is it a heavy cube you carry around?

It's from Portal. Best part of the game. Evar. Source of much of the dark humor in the game.

Searching Google Images for Weighted Companion cube got random images like the Hypertoad from Futurama and flaming cards.
Do weighted companion cubes vary from player to player? What do they do?

They do absolutely nothing.
You need to use them for some levels, like to knock out stuff or hit a switch. (As far as I know).

Here's to thinking they fixed the whole bracket.
No way in hell they were really being serious.

In which case, it should have been an automatic fail. 4chan is full of utter rubbish.
I've lost all respect for GameFAQs as a result of this.

Lmao. It's just a character battle.
And not fail, the L Block was success.

Lmao. It's just a character battle. And not fail, the L Block was success. You're already treading on thin ice. I suggest you get off before you fall in. DO NOT PRESS MY BUTTONS.No, the L-block was NOT a success. The mere fact that a freaking four block arrangement won popularity over 127 REAL game characters because of something that sounds like a goddamn hentai site really burns me up. It is complete, total bullcrap.

Dude, chill. You're taking this far too seriously. It's a gameFAQS poll, nothing more, nothing less. The only thing that this proves is that people can enjoy a joke, even after it's a bit played out.

If it's a joke, I fail to see the punchline. This was for characters, not for geometric shapes.

Perhaps that was the joke. No matter how serious you are about it, it's still a fictional character contest on an online game-walkthrough site. I think this pretty well proves that point.

And yet it wasn't decided by a true majority, and in all likelihood was planned out from the very beginning. In which case, why go through all the rickamaroll? All it ended up doing was showing that the vote didn't mean a damn thing.

Who says it wasn't by true majority? It's exceedingly doubtful that this is one big conspiracy by G-FAQs higher-ups. What's more likely is that a bunch of people said "Hey, wouldn't it be funny if a non-character won a character contest?""Hey, yeah!" And then voted accordingly.
At any rate, getting angry about it after the fact isn't really going to change anything. It's like people getting pissed that Sonic ended up in Brawl. No matter how angry you are about it, he's still gonna stay there, so getting outraged about it is really just a waste of time and energy. This is the same sort of thing. Anger's not gonna change it, so why bother? It's just another trivial thing in the annals of the internet, anyway.
