"Urgh..." The grunt came in from the door of the bar, as a woman got in. Well, one wouldn't know it was a woman, as she was hidden under a large cloak, but her grunt gave her away. She slowly walked towards the bar, as if to hide her limping. As she walked over, she took the hood off her face, revealing a charming face. Her long brown hair would have been beautiful, but right now it was in a mess. Her usually side-swept bangs fell in a mess across her forehead, and her hair was anything but kempt. She kept her body hidden in the cloak. Her hazel eyes turned to the barman as she sat down. "One double scotch, please." She spoke in a low voice, loud enough for just Jackson to hear. She didn't bother look to see who was there; all she wanted was her drink.
OOC: Yes, I came back just to RP

Daniel listened to the woman walk in, thinking for a second it might have been Helen, but he didn't recognize the voice. She was probably off emasculating some poor bastard or something. Daniel really didn't care, she could do whatever the hell she wanted as long as the person getting emasculated wasn't him. Helen was great at her job, but neither of them had exactly what you would call people skills, which created a lot of tension.
"You know, a double Scotch sounds good," Daniel chuckled to himself. "I'll have the same."
He glanced at the woman in the robe, and he wasn't sure to talk to her or not, so he just kept his mouth shut. He didn't want to end up starting another fight tonight.
---
It was funny that Melonni had mentioned not wanting to be seen, Helen thought to herself, seeing as she had just witnessed the entire event. She had followed them from earlier, and watched as they had saved that man. She was thinking they would go back to the bar as heroes, but it seemed as if they were adamant that no one were to know what they had done. She decided it was time to stop hiding behind walls and stand out, right in front of them.
"Is there any reason you shouldn't be seen?"

"Helen!?" Melonni froze.
Dammit dammit dammit dammit this is bad. Think Melonni think. Are you a knight or a scam artist right now? Noble or evil?
Melonni readjusted her stance, looking a bit more casual. "A wonder to see you here. You weren't following us, were you? Why would a kind soul like yourself stalk around in the shadows?"
~~~~~
Jackson was surprised at the number of people tonight. Sure, some night people flood the bar like it's their job to drink and sing all night, but most nights the numbers are small. This was an odd medium.
"One double scotch fer the lady. Three coppers." Jackson generously filled the mug to the brim. Lots of people in rough shape tonight, too. "And fer the gent, ehh, I've been instructed not to serve yeh any o' the hard stuff. Yer lady friend. She told me yer a dangerous man with a beer in yer hand and I like my bar intact thank you very much."
"I didn't trust you going out with your buddy there at this time of night," Helen told Melonni rather bluntly. If she was going to start an argument here, at least she should be honest. "Don't you think it's a bit odd that you came out here? What were you looking for? I just followed you to make sure you didn't do something stupid."
Helen stood her ground now, and her hand was by her holster. If she was going to be getting in a spar with these people, she needed to be ready to make the first move.
"I was getting a feel for the town." Melonni smiled and held out her arms in innocence. "Walking the streets, observing the architecture. I'm sick of castles and enjoy the simplicity of these buildings. I wasn't being evasive. But I understand your concern. I seemed suspicious to you and your instincts kicked in. I assure you, Helen, there's nothing to worry about. Now, I will worry you no further. Return to the inn with me. Shall we?" Melonni began to pass her, hoping she was clear.
It'd be a shame to kill her.
"You know, that's odd," Helen chuckled, smirking at Melonni. "I seem to remember that you said you were settling in your room when you left. And why would you go out to observe the architecture in the evening, when you can't see the details of the buildings? You aren't helping your situation."
She had an eye on "Michael" while talking to Melonni. She didn't trust the man, and he had proved he was skilled with magic.
"So, what are you up to, really?"
Melonni's gaze narrowed. She was getting angry, but she was determined to compose herself and returned with a tired smile. "Must we argue? The moon is full. My eyes have always been good in the dark. I couldn't sleep, so I decided to take a walk." Melonni stopped and met Helen's gaze. Unwavering. A sparkle flickered in the recesses of Melonni's striking green eyes. Then, firmly, she said, "I'm up to nothing. Really. And if you'd like to doubt my intentions further, you may do so in the morning, back at the inn. Good night."
Again, she walked by Helen. Husk breezed by her as well. She would not stop again.
"I don't see what's wrong with giving just one glass", the brunette said, chuckling, "I doubt he'll be aggressive with only one. Besides, he's making a good choice of drink."
She turned to Daniel and smiled as she said so. She then reached out for her glass, while keeping her arm hidden in her cloak. But no matter how much she tried to hide, it was inevitable to see that her hand, with which she held the mug, was covered with bandages.
Helen was full on smirking now. She knew that Melonni was up to something, and that she was now getting nervous with Helen watching her. Helen had planned on leaving the next day, but this woman and her companion were interesting. Daniel could easily go ahead without her, and she'd stay behind... just in case. A small smile on her face, she decided to walk after Melonni and Husk, acting quite innocent.
"I might as well follow you back to the inn, then!"
"It was probably Helen who came in and told you that," Daniel sighed, his temper rising. He didn't like when Helen set limits on his drinking, and it wasn't the first time. He had only ever been violent when drinking twice or maybe three times. Most of the time, he just slept in late and whined for a few hours. Besides, it took a lot to make him drunk! "I'm not that bad, and she's just teasing. Could I have a double scotch?"
He smiled at the woman who had come to defend his love of a good drink, but he happened to glance at her hand. He had an odd look on his face, and he couldn't help but stare.
Melonni did not reply. This outing had ended on a bittersweet note. This situation was far from un-salvageable, it would just require a bit more finesse than normal. Husk followed dutifully behind Melonni as they made their way back to the inn.
Jackson looked sideways at Daniel. He didn't enjoy turning paying customers away, especially when getting doubled teamed for it. He shifted on his feet and sighed. "Aye, alright. One drink. Three coppers." Jackson filled the mug, perhaps not so generously as the woman's, and placed it in front of Daniel, but not before adding in, "You better not cause any trouble, thas' all I'm gonna say."
