We have Drama Club, but not an actual class. Unless "Theatre Arts" is the same thing...

Theatre Arts sounds like it'd be the same thing. Do they do readers theater and actual live performances, or do they just study theater?
Oh yeah, we're having fundraisers right now so we can go see a live performance of Phantom of the Opera in December. I'm so pumped, that's one of my favorites!

Currently listening to: Accidentally in Love - Counting CrowsTaking a homework break for a class assessment, like it matters. Sociology: Is fun. We talk a lot about topics I have interest in and there's little homework, but eventually there's some essay tests. Oh well. I'll rock 'em fine. It's only a semester class though. Anatomy: Will be tricky, as it's lots and lots and lots of memorization, but I like the subject. I sit near some friends who like it as well. I'll manage fine. AP Language Arts: Will be a gradually annoying bitch. Tomorrow we have to write an essay, in class, and turn it in for a grade with only two prep days. It'll only get worse from there. Probably the second worse class I have. Physics: Is more mathy than I expected, but it'll get into the sciencey parts as we go on. I like science and the math is chemistry last year was simple, despite how I suck at math math. Intro to College Algebra: Is a pushover class. The next level up is FST (Functions, Statistics, and Trigonometry), but I DID NOT want harder math, so I dropped a level in difficulty and I finally have an awesome math teacher. Interestingly, it will be one of my easiest classes. French III: Is the bitch class. Weird teacher, my same French I teacher. French is her third language, so she was some weird mixed accent and, despite living in the US for some odd 10 years, she still can't speak English very well. Luckily, my girlfriend is in that class and she's a beast at French. Encore (Show Choir): Will rock. I love singing. Dancing will just come to me. And I have loads of friends in there. Plus, practically everyone in Encore is in Drama Club, and both are very elitist groups, so it's great to be involved in both. Well, I suppose back to homework. Wish me luck on that essay tomorrow. Oh yeah! My last in-class driving class is tomorrow. Then the in-car classes start. Then, after those, I take the test and get my license. Woo. @kinda, cause I know you read this: We need you for RPs!! Please!! Return to us!! Let the RPs live again!! Transmission end: Tuesday, August 25, 2009. 8:46 PM

So, shit happened today. I'm pissed and there's nothing I can do to amend the situation. Bleh.
Mr. Brazel, the school's "disciplinary administrator" (a fancy name for a convoluted and overly stubborn asshole), walks over behind our table at lunch. I was sitting with my friends Dan and Aaron and another random girl. He starts talking to the kids at the table behind me. We continue conversation. He then puts his finger on my shoulder and his conversation gets redirected toward us.
Apparently, something was thrown across the cafeteria and the kids behind us redirected blame to my table. I didn't even know if anything was thrown. He told us to stop lying. We continued to deny the accusation...cause nothing happened. He then said he'd go check the cameras. We said "Go right ahead.". Confused, we go back to our business.
In the middle of 6th period, I get called down to the office, but my teacher says he can't come right now. Five minutes later, Brazel shows up at the door and has me follow them to his office. We get there and he says, "I gotcha...I gotcha." Then I got the sense this wasn't going to go well.
He explains to me that he saw an object thrown across the cafeteria originating either at our table or the table behind us. His evidence? Two screenshots from a ceiling camera: one with my arm back, the other with my arm forward. Enough for him to slap me with a Saturday detention.
It's not the detention that annoys me. It's two and a half hours of sitting in a room and it'll let me finish my homework I get on Friday. The annoying part is that he is so so so sure is me when there are so many holes in his testimony.
There was no object in the picture. He bother to figure out what it was. He didn't know what it was from the very start. Why were the kids behind me more trustworthy than me, the kid with no bad reputation except for a sole detention back in freshman year. He didn't check for pictures on the other table. And he told me if I didn't stop lying to him, he'd suspend me.
What. The. Hell.
The worst part about Brazel is that he's stubborn and totally unfair. He won't withdraw a punishment under any terms, not even if decisive evidence proves otherwise. I figured walking into his office, guns ablaze, and arguing with him could only hurt. My option isn't my preferred, but it seems to carry the most weight.
I'm going to write a letter to him.
Yeah, weak, I know. But I learned from others that he responds well to well organized, polite debating. And I'm better at words on paper than in person. I asked Aaron and Dan to write a little statement to attach onto it, backing me up. I doubt it will lift the detention, but it's better than nothing and can't make things worse.
Well, that's my story for the day. Bleh.

Amendment to my last entry:
Letter writing is out. Dan and I concocted a rough plan to fight back. I serve the damn thing, clearing up doubt that I'm just trying to weasel out of the detention, then rationally and calmly argue the case face to face. Maybe at least I get some justification and, best case scenario, get the thing removed from my record.

wtf. That's just messed up.
I'm still trying to figure out why he chose to believe the other kids and hold onto their statement as though it's the absolute truth. Perhaps one of them is his kid or something?

Just about every teacher in the world has to think they are always right, simply because they feel since they're older, they know more. It's really stupid how arrogant they can be.

Well, today, Aaron and Dan went to talk to our new-ish principal, Mr. Caras. Caras is a nice guy, and he believe me, and he said I'm a good kid, but it's a small offense (compared to a suspension). Too small go back and try and prove my innocence. He said there's enough evidence to either prove or disprove it, depending on interpreation, but he said he couldn't help but agree with Brazel and that he was sorry.
He said the actual video shows my arm going back, then forward like I'm throwing something (though nothing could be seen I'm betting my ass), and then I follow something with my eyes (which I'm also betting they couldn't see). I still think they're just seeing what they want to see.
I also learned Brazel hates the whole alternative crowd. And black kids. He's a discriminatory ass with a couple lucky screenshots. So, he had enough to pin it on me.
So I lost Caras, my one potential, effective ally. I might make my case to him instead of Brazel, but I doubt I'll accomplish anything. But at the very least, Caras believes me. If that's all I get, it's enough.

:/ This sucks...
But I'd like to ask, what was thrown? They keep talking about those pictures. Okay, fine. But what was thrown, and who reported it? Did it split open someone's head or something?

No ones knows. That was my main point too. No one complained. Brazel just says he saw something thrown and he was vague photographic proof.

So, last week, auditions were held for Drama Club's fall show, Pinocchio. I know, I know. Pinocchio? But it's not the crappy Disney version. This is the original comedy of Pinocchio and it's so much better than the animated movie.
Cast list went up today. It's double casted. In this case, there's a red cast and a blue cast. Some nights, red cast will perform, other nights, blue cast, so everyone has two roles to fill. My roles:
Red Cast: Geppetto.
Hell yeah! A lead. A main lead. Huzzah!
Blue Cast: Antonio
Less "Huzzah!" but it's still a nice part. Red cast FTW.
So yeah, I'm all excited for that. It shouldn't mean much loss of ToM time, since I get on really late anyway.

I totally fail with social plans. I made plans with people to go see 9 and District 9 this Sunday. Totally didn't realize District 9 is an R rated movie. Stupidly enough, we're all 16. I figured buying tickets online could get us past the age requirement. There's still uncertainty attached.
Can anyone confirm if the ticket takers card you when you go pick up tickets or whatever? I'm totally grasping.
